Pottie Pam, good morning to you and everyone else posting. The aeroplane water bombers have been around for a few years. Hubby said they are of limited value, but everything helps. The helicopters that drop buckets of water on the fires are also good. The fires are so huge and spread out, that it’s hard to get to all of it and the winds have been horrible the last couple of weeks.
Hubby is a volunteer fire fighter, not paid. All of the locals are the same. It’s just a part of living in the country.😏😁

Lovely to see everyone appearing on a cold Saturday morning. I’m probably going to bed soon with my lovely book (and Hubby of course).

Lots of busy forkers today.   Not here.  Lazy morning reading in bed and being snuggled by critters.  OH lit the log burner last night and all the critters came to luxuriate in the glow.  They'll get soft!

Sunny today so walkies after brunch - serious breakfast with Irish black and white pudding too - then the local village fete which includes a tart competition I'm keen to check out.

Sorry things have been rough RG and hope it all clears up soon.  Like FG says, take pleasure in small things to perk you up and get you thru.    We went to look at fairy lights yesterday cos I'm planning a home-made Scandinavian style thingy in the dining room and need some that aren't green wired for hiding in Xmas trees.  They're already playing USA style Xmas songs in the French answer to Woollies.  Pity the poor staff with 5 weeks of it to go.

Love the look of that plant Pat and LP but can't find any on sale here or seeds either.

Have a lovely day all.   Have fun but stay safe and warm wherever you are.

Lazy day's good now and again Obs.
I got a could of wooden thingies with white cable and lights for my bedroom windowsill last year.  Triangular, and Scandi-ish.
Weather's very hit and miss here, so I'm off to take little fairy for a drive. I thought going to the nursery would be a good outing for her. No ulterior motive, of course.... ;)
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
  • Busy yesterday and busy today so just popping in on OH's laptop ... sending ((hugs)) to all who could do with them

Thank you, Dove, that was lovely, but I hope the lamb wasn't really motherless.

I've been doing housework, washing and food preparation this morning. Friends are coming to lunch tomorrow. I always find that motivating to clear the place up.

It's a bit grey outside and it rained in the night. I didn't feel like getting on with the garden clear up, but OH has been very good sweeping up leaves.

  • Oh dear  BL ... it’s a tough life out there for lambs ... I’m sure the nice farmer with the camera found a suitable foster ewe ... maybe the lamb even had a step brother or sister to gambol among the daffodils with  :)

  • Hello everyone!   :)

Back from Madeira, after a lovely restful week.  Not always dry, but always beautiful... with some amazing waves:

...and to Wonky and Moira, feeling crook.  Hope the rain's stopped for Hosta!

    Trying again with the photos:

Hope they're not too big - I've tried to compress them...

Lovely pics @Liriodendron - I bet that trip was a real tonic. I could watch waves breaking all day - magical.
I am still having a lazy day here - set up a TV in the kitchen/breakfast room so we all sitting in there as we have a sofa and comfy chair and it’s nice and warm, with easy access to beverages and snacks as required!
