Having extended laziness again today. Actually I have admitted that it is my postural tachycardia symptoms causing mischief again - so annoying. I fancied a Christmas market today but couldn’t risk the feeling faint in public - hate it when that happens. Just been reading about exercises to do which may help - anyone done Pilates??

Hope everyone doing what they fancy today - be it sofa relaxing or out and about.

Chicky does Pilates.  SIL had this for a while but it went away.   Have you tried raising your feet on a pillow in bed and do you drink plenty of fluids?

Xmas market today disappointing as it was mostly tat instead of crafty but I did get some Tomme de Savoie from a local cheesemonger and some honey from a local producer plus a fabric scarf/snood thingy for Possum made by a local "couturier"  I didn't know about.  They offer sewing classes so I might just go and learn about invisible zips.

Possum has brought home this year's Xmas "jumper" to keep her warm.  It's fluffy grey fleece with a hood that has ears and a nose.  She wore it yesterday and Bonzo growled at her.   Stoopid dog unless he was just questioning the jumper and not frightened by it in which case I agree.

Big fan of Pilates here AuntyRach - good for flexibilty, and you get taught to breathe in a special calmimg way, so it might help your symptoms.  Its kind of like yoga but without the meditation.

Just made cupcakes with Chicklet, waiting for them to cool before the icing goes on 😋

    Glad you slept, Dove.

Our day is like chez Obelixx, grey, wet and windy.

Had roasted in herbs and wrapped in foil (to stop it drying out) pork fillet. Crab timbale to start, raspberry fool for pud. A friend joined us but 2 other friends couldn't come, ill.

TV and family phone calls this afternoon.

Thanks girls. Feeling a bit brighter as the day going on. Trying all the usual methods of drinking loads, no caffeine, no standing still and some other avoidance tactics but haven’t tried formal exercise or compression stockings yet so looking into those (don’t really fancy the stockings though). Might try a Pilates DVD and see what it’s like.
Nice suprise for dinner tonight - OH went to see his parents and was offered lunch so has come back with chicken dinner all plated-up - excellent. Pork fillet sounds nice @Busy-Lizzie, as do cupcakes @chicky

Did some bits and pieces outside earlier, but it was a bit too raw for faffing around on a ladder with power tools. Took daughter out  and then B&Q for paint, otherwise the bedroom will never get done. No enthusiasm for it.  :/
The lovely thrush visited again - eating the sloe berries I think, down the end of the front garden. Managed to get a couple of pix through the window. She's very beautiful. Looks like a 'she'.  ;)

I unearthed a nice family of snails hibernating under a corner of the area I was working, so that's her tea sorted.  :)
Sorry you're still a bit knackered AuntyR, but if you're sitting doing nowt, and have a good reason, it's always less guilt ridden . Taking it easy is always the best remedy.
I hate shopping centres chicky. Really struggle with them. Hurrah for online shops  :D
Nice to have a meal out, and chicklet with you too, though. Cupcakes - not fairycakes? Dear dear....what's the world coming to?  :D
Glad that worked out well for your son Dove. Cars are a pain in the ring when you have bother. Hopefully the new one will serve him well.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

Aunty Rach. You can do nothing better for your body than to practice Pilates
I have done it for 20+ years and in fact had a studio here at one time. Silly red tape forced me to close or I would still be doing it. Can I recommend you find a class. In the early stages your really need someone to check your positions. So easy to get it wrong

Does anyone know ....... can I still apply weed killer. My absence in the garden is now obvious with leaves removed!

will read back properly and see what everyone has done with their Sunday. I think it was Stir Up?

LP. Two weeks ago I applied weed killer to a large alchemilla mollis, growing through the paving slabs.  The weedkiller hasn't had any effect on it at all.

@Lily Pilly I think the usual advice is the weeds have to be 'in active growth' or words to that effect. I don't think that would be true of anything here just now.

I managed to get outside a bit today - it's rained all week, forecast to rain all next week so I was taking advantage of the brief lull. It's cold but not biting. Decent walk with the dogs and then scuffled about in the veg patch to find some things to make a fresh batch of veg stock, which is all done and bottled now. Fennel, leek, celery, parsley, sage, thyme plus a carrot and a pepper out the fridge and some of my hard neck garlic from the summer.

It's OH's turn to do dinner - roast pork belly with various bits of veg left over from the stock. Knowing him though there'll be at least one chilli involved.

ETA Very fine looking thrush @Fairygirl. I've been watching the wrens flitting about here, in and out of the sheds and hopping about amongst the wood pile. I heard our thrush but haven't seen him/her today. The robin kept me company in the garden as usual. I think they were all glad of the break in the downpour too
