  • Good morning all  :). Goodness me I slept like a log until 8am when OH woke me with my coffee  B)   I’ve slept soooooo much better since all the hassle with sons car was finished ... it’s amazing how much that sort of stuff churning around in your head affects your sleep.  :/

Now I’ll have a scout around on here ...

It's stressful right enough Dove. I know the feeling only too well.  Glad you've got it sorted and had a better night.  :)

Good morning.  Grey, wet and blustery here.   Nearly 4cms of rain since bedtime and looks like more to come which is great.

Possum is still deep in the land of nod.  That girl can sleep for Belgium!   Clearly exhausted by cooking dinner which was really tasty - some sort of spicy Thai peanutty sauce on chicken breast strips with carrots and red peppers which she decided to liven up with one of my Asian shop Thai red chilies, thinking it would be mild like the ones in Belgian SMs.   Ha!   Apple tart to follow.   Yum.   Once she's up we're off to the local Xmas market and then walkies for some more fresh air.

Dove - glad you slept well.  Is son happy with his new car or too soon to tell?

FG - would CBT help no 1's anxiety?  Dreadful handicap not being able to drive herself about.   Hope that road closure doesn't affect you northerners too badly.

Hope the pork was good Pat.  Possum's asked for roast belly pork for dinner tonight.

Rigt - quick scout then off to get dressed for the great outdoors.   Have a lovely Sunday everyone.

Glad you got some welcome rain Obs, even if it's blustery and rough. It went from cloud/rain here to a little bit of  clear sky and frost as daylight came in, and then cloud again. Now it's back to clear and sunny.  :)
Daughter has more than just anxiety, so driving's probably out of the question. The bus service is pretty good - it's just the early Sunday start that's an issue as there aren't any that early. It doesn't bother me really - I'm better if I get up at the same sort of time every day. I'm not a bed lover.

Morning all - especially the returning Rgirl,PottiePam and Liri.  Those wave photos are amazing 🤩

Still in bed here 😳. Recovering from yesterday’s mass family outing to Bluewater - shopping and a meal out for belated celebrations of my niece’s 21st (she’s home from Brisbane for the holidays).  I know that sort of day is an anathema to most of you, but we had a lot of fun.  Littlest chicklet did a day return from B’ham, so she joined in the shenanigans.  And it now means the majority of my Christmas shopping is done ✅

Chicklet is here til this evening, so we’re about to brave the misty drizzle and go for a walk - she’ll be cooped up on a train for 4 hours later, so leg stretching is required.

  • @Obelixx ... he is thrilled with it thanks so fingers crossed ... he bought it from a private seller, a skilled mechanic and a real car enthusiast ... the engine's been reconditioned with authentic parts and it gleams like a new pin, as does the bodywork  ... he documented and  photographed the work and the parts every step of the way and it's a much loved car which has been driven  across Europe a couple of times since he did it up ... son drove it to Lincs yesterday and was very pleased with the way it handled.  It was only half the price of the unmitigated disaster he bought from Car Shop (there, I've said it ... that's who it was) and that means he can afford to trade his van in and get a bigger/better one for the business so it's all working out ok ... every cloud has a silver lining :)  It's just a shame that it took so long to sort out :/

Christmas pudding mixture is all mixed up, the kitchen smells amazing ... we'll 'Stir Up' and make our wishes when OH gets home from work this afternoon and steam them tomorrow ... (at least we won't have to boil up the copper and do them with the laundry as in the old days ;)).

OH has just turned on the TV to watch the Grand Prix.  Wet outside so I'm off to sew and so.

Fish pie for supper has been assembled ... I'll pop it in the oven when OH gets home from work ... I'm heading for the sofa, the knitting and possibly a film ......

If anyone's putting the kettle on later, I take my coffee strong with just a dash of milk and no sugar ....................... ;)
