Thanks for the thought Busy. As I drove home last night it was clear the village had had a good shower but, of course, our little hamlet was dry. Frustrating.
Hope the chimney gets cleared OK. We haven't needed ours yet, nor the heating but we'd better try the latter out soon as its service is due in a couple of weeks.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

Pdoc is off to no 10 for a thank you lunch if memory serves.
New itches starting up on left knee and under my chin which is bloody irritating. Old itches fading a bit but I'm on two antishstamines a day and loads of ointment to cope. Will have to remember this next year and fumigate house and wardrobe and linen closet next year as it seems to be seasonal and is maddening.

It's looking very autumnal here - misty and still, with lovely colour still on the trees.
Not sure we can spare you any serious rain yet, Obelixx. The spring which feeds a horse trough just below the railway bridge has only just started trickling again, after months of nothing. In winter its overflow sometimes needs diverting with sandbags to stop it carving holes in the road... we'll need a bit more rain before that's the case again, I think.
Glad to hear Chicky and Fairygirl had good celebrations yesterday. And yes, there should always be enough cake/croissants to spill over into subsequent days...
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Oooh yes .... and jolly well deserved too @punkdoc while you're there can you please take charge of Brexit ... someone needs to knock some heads together whatever's going to happen.
Am on the train to London, for a "meeting" I think I told you about, not sure how I will cope with the long day.
I missed that too doc - and yes, get sone serious a*se kicking done Obs - I had a plain one for quality control, and then I may have had two, or possibly three...embarrassed face smiley needed. No chocolate, so they're nearly healthy
Plenty more too - so help yourselves Your itch sounds extremely irritating, if you'll pardon the expression. Some lovely colour on an acer on my way to work. It shines like a beacon. It's a pity the owners have allowed a load of other shrubs to encroach on it though - it should have a lovely spot all on it's own.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Morning all. Chimney sweeps are here. One of the woodburners is blocked, filled the room with smoke.
Good luck at work, Chicky. Hugs for Pat.
Going outside shortly to plant violets.
Rain has stopped, cloudy start but sun is now out. Sun forecast for rest of week so I can't send some rain to Obelixx.

@Obelixx how's the itching? Did you manage to get any stuff from the pharmacy?

Hope the pills and potions sort it @Obelixx
