@Lily Pilly,  the gusts of wind are strengthening by the hour and the trees are being battered but it calms down a bit between them.

  • Morning all, afternoon Pat,
Longest absence yet, don't think I could possibly catch up!
    Hope everyone is well.
Lack of time gave me no choice but to disappear for a while, fifty hours a week at work then housewife duties was leaving me with zero time, everything had to make way, hoping to be able to pop in more often, best wishes to you all and your gardens! 😊

Saw the outside of V@A Dundee last year. It is an amazing building.
My Mum was born in one of the many houses demolished for the redevelopment round there, which is a really good thing, they were slums.

It makes a lot more sense to me than the Bilbao Guggenheim which I liked at first glance but then started to wonder about when I saw it from the other side.  This is the riverside view

which is fine but the backside is just a blocky modern building which only looks good at night

See what you mean about that angle Obelixx.
The V&A has been well received widely. I think there was a prog about it on the other night but I missed it.
Good to see you Wonks   :)
LP - please go and get checked - but not today! It's been quite wild and wet, but clears a bit in between, as Joyce says. It might be slightly less rough where you are - it's travelling north east, so perhaps you'll miss the worst of it.  There's quite a few bits and pieces of branches round here and on the way to work, but I have a short journey, and not too much traffic, so less inconvenience. Trains etc have been cancelled, and obviously no ferries, but the worst flooding and wind seems to be in Dumfries & Galloway, Argyll, Nrth Lanarkshire and Ayrshire. Someone along the road now has their shed sitting on their fence, but it was knackered anyway, so I don't think it would have taken much to send it flying. Personally, I think we've had worse here.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Haven't got a photo but it's worse form the street side - office blocky - and only saved by a huge piazza and the big Scottie dog covered with pansies plus the excellent coffee served on the terrace.
