Annoying day here today. I got the washing machine started, fiddled around in the house waiting for the cycle to finish, and suddenly total silence. Power off!  It didn’t come back on until 2pm which means that I couldn’t open the front loader door until then. I’m not sure if it’ll dry this time. Apparently the whole region was affected. No reason given - usually an accident, but I suppose we’ll hear tonight.

    Morning Chicky and Dove.
Some of the washing is in, but jeans etc still out there at 4.40 pm.  I’m seriously thinking of leaving them out all night. 🤭

Morning all. Chilly morning! But looking quite bright. Lots to do today.

I'm quite envious of your gardening club, Chicky, it sounds really good.

Not envious of your unexpected power cut, Pat. I wonder what caused it.

    Worrying news about John Lewis.

Right, must go and sort out a packed lunch for Bow - penultimate work experience day today. SYL.

What is she doing LG and is she enjoying it?

Power cuts are irritating Pat, especially when it's a surprise and you don't know how long it will last.

Did you learn any good tips to pass on Chicky?   Our garden club is good at organising visits and plant swaps and project days but doesn't seem to do talks.

Haven't seen any news this morning so no idea what's going on.  Been busy touching up the little faults in plasterboard that only show after the first coat of paint.   Soon as that's dry, 2nd coat of base then colour tomorrow.

Possum makes very good sushi Dove.  Surprised you don't have a go.

.. ... bought sunshi here this morning ...
@Obelixx ... a victim of predictive text (I was in bed using my phone) ... no idea what I was trying to say (probably 'bright sunshine') but it wasn't about sushi ............. we have W'rose just a gentle stroll away and their sushi is very good, (and it seems that they need the custom)  plus there are some good Japanese restaurants in the city ... but I've a feeling that if I ever got OH into sushi making he might well become very keen ... Hmmmmmm a kit for C*****mas might be the way .... thanks for the idea  :)

I’d like to know the reason for the power cut as well, LG. Hubby’s jeans are still on the line.
Hubby is at a meeting at the Fire Brigade tonight, so he might pick up some gossip.

ive taken pity on my kangaroos and wallabies tonight. I’ve left the gate to my veggie garden open, which I never do. The reason is that there is almost no grass for them to eat outside. They all have bulging pouches at the moment with sunny little arms and a head poking out. The only things growing in there at the moment is Celeriac and lots of weeds, so they can have a graze and I’ll see what damage they’ve done when I go out there in the morning.

Pat, I'm sure the kangaroos and wallabies will be very grateful for whatever they get.
Dry but breezy. Have been out and got the wallflowers into pots.

Pat - that's a good thing to do for the hoppity folk.

Dove - I bought a kit for Possum as she's loved sushi since she was a toddler and gorged on it - with wasabi - at just 18 months old at a BBQ organised by my cooking group so we could meet hubbies.   Mix of Iranian, Norwegian, Malaysian, Mexican, German, Belgian and Brits with a handy Japanese lady too.   Took Possum ages to get it out and have a go but she does it regularly now for nibbles or apéro and I now have to have the doings here too so she can indulge.
