Chilly and wet here, was going to put the heating on but it wouldn't cut in when I put the stat at 20 so it's obviously me not the weather.

Jonah's brother and Secondborn are home from hospital.  He has a name now too.  Gabriel.  Jonah is showing no interest at all.

Been out for coffee and cake with friend and had a good gossip, been so busy lately that we hadn't had chance to catch up.

Enjoy the rest of your Thursday everyone.

Totally understand your frustration Punk but glad you had at least one good outcome

I spent 15mins waiting for a call to be answered from a company who asked me to call them re the decision on my claim, surely there should be a direct number. I was totally frazzled by the time I got through and it was a well known health ins company!

Nice to know that there are still human beings in banks, punk.

Gabriel is a nice name, Yvie, one of my brothers has it for his 2nd name and my firstdaughter is Gabrielle.

It has rained all day here. Garden is delighted. I have done a load of ironing in front of Bakeoff.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
  • Hello folks  :)  I'm home   :)  lunch with son consisted of coffee and a guided tour of their new business premises ... the decorators are in at the moment so it's all wet paint and varnish, but it's going to be amazing  :)

I came home via a very good farm shop and picked up a free range chicken and some other meat for tomorrow and the weekend ... no need to visit a SM now  B)

Glad at least one of your tasks for the day had a good result @punkdoc

I shall collapse on the sofa for five minutes then serve supper ... chicken casserole which has been chuntering in the slow cooker while I've been out.

Interesting to note that the wild cherry plums in the hedgerows are far more prolific down in Suffolk than they are up here this year ... think we took the brunt of the Beast from the East at blossom time.

I've just had to google the term " op-ed" . Am I the only person who had never heard this term before?

Evening all. Glad you had a nice day Dove. Hope all goes well for your son  :)
Lovely name Yvie. Unusual and very distinctive.
Happy Anniversary LP and Mr LP.  Hope you're having a nice treat - for staying power  ;)
That's soem holiday fidget. You don't do things by halves! Glad you're back safely.
@punkdoc - don't know if you can get BBC Scotland in iPlayer, but there's a new series of Paul Murton's Grand Tours prog on Monday night. Guess where he's been?  :)
He's also visiting the canal, and lovely Ben Cruachan, so Joyce might want a swatch at that as well  ;)
Mixed day today weather wise after heavy rain through the night. Heavy downpours and a bit of sun in between. Never got very warm apart from when behind glass. Think tomorrow's to be a bit better, so may get something done outside after work.

Glad you've had your faith restored, punkdoc :)

Gabriel is a lovely name, Yvie, and goes very well with Jonah. I love a Biblical name.

Got a phone call this afternoon offering me a place on the next (practical) RHS course. I had to make a quick decision so I've decided to go for it, though I'm a bit discombobulated. Starts next Friday. Eek.
