Shame about the appt Doc but great that she's feeling better.

Great hawkmoth photo.   I hope we get some when our assorted honeysuckles flower next year - assuming they think they're big enough by then.

Wild boar in the garden not good Busy.   Moles are bad enough.  They went berserk here last night in our front "lawn", just because I put the sprinkler on the front bed but wide enough to water the tree peony too and lots of little cyclamen and autumn daffs popping up in the grass between them.  It's the only green bit of grass in the entire 4 acres and now looks thoroughly tunneled and tatty.

Nice pic Wonky/Dove - I haven’t seen one yet this year.

How is Hog-warts coming on @Fairygirl

My hotel is is nearly finished...just need my neice to help me with the name and sign:

It’s nestled at the bottom of the garden, under some trees and the inside is the size of a pallet, with a waterproof roof and covered with branches and leaves. Hope they decide to move in...

How lovely to have one of those Wonks. Very jealous  :)
Bright and windy here, so my washing might dry quickly too Hosta  ;)
Certainly not very warm though, 11 or thereabouts, so I'm insulating and waterproofing hoghouse in the kitchen, but I have a bit of sawing to do so I should get outside after my lunch to do that. It's cost me nothing apart from my time, and the extra nails/screws I had to get. When the girls come in they just roll their eyes in that 'what's Mum making now' kind of way... :D
Been very lucky that I don't have moles [although had some in the previous garden here and there ] and certainly no boars, apart from the other 'ore' kind...
doc - so sorry - I forgot to ask after Moira. Glad she's ok today though. Look after her  :)
The leaves from the hedge are all falling so I might try and collect those and keep them for the hog bed, and maybe do a quick once over of the grass.

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

    Afternoon all.
Hubby home from the shop so I've stopped to have a cuppa.
I'm glad Moira is better and that everyone seems happy with their weather.
I've been busy moving chippings down, and logs up. Very productive.

Lovely AuntyR - sorry, your post wasn't there when I posted. Looks fantastic. Hope your hogs like it. I love the neatly arranged pine cones. Do you think they'll appreciate that?  :D
I've been out sawing and whatnot, but the smirry rain keeps coming off and on, which isn't great.  This is when I miss having a garage to work in! Daughter is going to make a sign - won't be simple of course. She's her mother's daughter  ;)
The main house is now insulated and waterproofed, and I'm going back out to do the roof. I've got 'en suite' entrance and feeding facility, which is causing me some problems, but it's nearly done. Trying to get a pallet dismantled to use for the roof is tricky, and is causing me to say some sweary words....  :s

Thanks @fairygirl - the pine cones are for kerb-appeal - it’s a tough housing market out there! 😂
My family are all making suggestions for the hotel name... I like Prickly Bottom but little neiece gets the final vote so let you know!

Definitely has kerb appeal and Prickly Bottom is a great name.

That actually made me laugh out loud. I pointed out the very neat cones to Hubby when I showed it to him.

I should point out that when I made my insect hotel in Belgium - 5 storeys of full pallet stuffed with straw at all levels, topped with a roof garden planted with sedums for nectar and sea shells to hold water and fronted with varying depths of hollow cane, hollow brick, wood chip and pine cones, the birds came every day and hoiked all the pine cones out onto the floor to check for bugs.  I eventually gave up putting them back and stuck to canes.

    Inconsiderate little sh*ts  :D

AuntyR - Prickly Bottom is absolutely brilliant. Can't go wrong with that - an extra 5 grand on to the value instantly. I'll need to up my game    :)
Had to come in - getting a bit windy, and needed something to eat. Note to self : when it's windy, don't have a cup of tea downwind of the jigsaw.... :/
Why does the last nail you need to take out of a bit of wood you want to use - never come out?  >:)
