You'd have to cover it with several layers here flumpy Glad you've had a nice hol. Morning all/afties Pat. Sunny here too, but nearer frost than flood. Heating's on for a bit. 4 degrees overnight, and only 8 just now. Much better than rain though Not watched G'sW yet, but I caught the end of it when I was organising myself, as I slept quite late. Much as I loved what that man had done, I think I'd find it quite claustrophobic. Fabulous for a very urban plot though - to keep all the noise out and give you a sanctuary. Beautifully done. I've already been outside for a look round and hogs have eaten everything and the birds are snaffling grub. I should get some more outdoor jobs done if it stays dry. I'll catch up here while I have another cuppa.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
The rain's going off here so hopefully Hosta will be seeing brightening skies as well. It's cold though - brisk northerly blowing - so he's not going to like that much, I expect.
I managed to get a few bits and bobs done in the shed and polytunnel yesterday - cuttings that have rooted potted on, a few seedlings potted up too, toms and cucumbers tidied up to try to get the last fruit ripe before it gets really cold. We're promised some sunshine in the next week or so, so fingers crossed. It's been a strange gardening year for me - I lost a lot of time to bad weather and illness in the spring and thought I'd not catch up. But it's actually turned out OK, on the whole.

Hi all. Thanks for the advice @fidgetbones @Hostafan1 I now have 3 Colocasias from my original tuber. I bring them in and let them die back, before starting them into growth again in February. Next year I want a black one. Just seen a treecreeper in the orchard, so a good start to the day.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
Disturbed night after OH came to bed late - sport on TV - and then snored! and snored! I decamped. Feeling bleugh now.
We have murky clouds and fine drizzle and 20C. Watched a recording of Beechgrove from the summer and they were exclaiming at extreme highs of 25C which made me laugh. More pottering for me today - clearing up for imminent tiler and electrician then some pot wrangling and potting on of this summer's babies. I have a fine crop of morus nigra seedlings that need more room and 4 vitex and some perennials too.
Hope no-one is being blown away or drowned. Off to see what's going on here before I get cracking.

Moira has just informed me that they are collecting 2 of our sofas for recovering tomorrow. This is good in that they are tatty and that I like the new fabric we chose, but very bad in that we need to move about 50 pots from around the path and prune some very overhanging shrubs.

That'll keep you quiet for a while then Doc. Was just thinking our sofas must be 20 years old now and still going strong except for a minor corner chew of the cover on one from when Bonzo joined the menagerie. Took out my favourite pair of smart shoes too. He doesn't have time to get bored now so no more massacres.
Still drizzling. Not enough to register on the rain meter but enough to make everything pleasingly damp. Superficial tho unless it stays like that all day. Fingers crossed.
