Have a treat ready for the day it goes too quiet! Joyce we were quite lucky wi day but not bad, it’s to return tonight tho! You ok?

Same old same old here. Wall to wall sunshine and not a drop of rain in sight all month - gone and to come. People at mosaic yesterday are thoroughly bored with the weather and want autumn to come. Apart from not being able to progress in the garden, we contrary Brits are loving it. Went out to look for Cosmos last night and was treated to a brilliant starlit sky and the Milky Way too, despite a half moon shining brightly.
Chocolate courgette cake in the oven for patchwork this pm. Only cocoa powder tho so I'll probably have to do an extra chocolaty ganache, just in case.
Good idea to plan a treat Chicky, or at least a project to keep you distracted while you get used to empty nest again. Glad you had a good weekend LP. Cucumber gin?
I hope everyone's OK during this wet and windy spell.

Same old same old here too, Obelixx - though in our case it's yet more thick drizzle. Your weather sounds fab, as does the cake... as long as it's cocoa and not drinking chocolate it should be fine. You need that little bite of bitterness you get from cocoa, or really good chocolate, in cake IMO.
LilyP, hope you enjoyed the visitors in spite of the extra work. Thanks for kind words, Chicky - it's always fun to look at other people's flowers, fruit and veg. Gives me inspiration (and a few bits and pieces to plant in the garden).
Off now to reassemble the tenor horn. You have to take them to bits every now and then, and give them a bath (literally), brushing out the tubes to remove unmentionable gunk. I took a few photos as I was removing slides & valves as a guide to putting it back together... wish me luck!
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Hi all. Bulb order arriving today between 10.24 and 11.24, the driver is Luke [ I do like precision ] Always get excited when bulbs or seeds are arriving, it doesn't take much to excite me. Love the sound of cucumber gin.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
Our daughter in law loves this, as we have sooooo many cucumbers I pack sterile jar with sliced cuc (no need to skin or remove pips). Buy the cheapest gin you can find and top up the bottle. Leave for about three weeks, then strain into sterile jar (twice if necessary) serve with a mixer and ice but don’t add lemon/ lime etc. Then hide it away!
