  • What apples trees do you have Fairygirl? I'd love to grow Bramleys and Granny Smith, once I get a big enough garden.
    Oh, and a damson - damson jam on hot, butter crumpets, is the best...

    They were meant to be Bramleys, but weren't! They look like they might be Spartan - someone here suggested that after they fruited. They're quite tart, so very nice to eat  :)
    It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

    Love damsons but can't grow them here.  Too hot.   On the other hand, there are sloes in the hedgerows so not all is lost.   Will have to wait for a trip to the UK to find a Bramley.

    31C this pm.  Nice for sun bathing.

    Dinner was good and while it roasted, I made 2 of Dove's recommended courgette cakes in the other oven.   Smells wonderful.

    Just starting the first episode of Bodyguard now.

    Thinking about apples. The last time we had a good harvest of apples was April 2011. We’ve been getting late frosts ever since.
