My BBC weather forecast is from the airport a few miles away so is spot on.
Neighbours and I worry about the old, tall trees in the wood behind us especially when they are still in leaf.

I use Met Office for here LP, and our nearest weather 'monitor' is at Bishopton, which is further west and lower altitude, as most of them are. It's usually not too bad though, and the temp isn't too far out either - a bit lower, but I like it because I can put in hills on it, again bearing in mind the stations are not at altitude, so it's an informed guess sometimes. Metcheck is another one, but they often 'disgaree' a fair bit.
The airports are often used for weather monitoring for good reason, but it depends where they are! We've now been upgraded to amber for wind tomorrow. Most stuff in my garden is well enough battened down, but you can never tell what might happen. You'd never know at the moment though, as the sun is out after being wet all morning.  :)
Hope you don't have any trees down Joyce and LP. They've kept the ones near me in good shape in the last couple of years, but we often get loads of little bits on the roads when it's wild.
Lovely blue sky flumpy. Think Obelixx is right with that ID. Cracking bright colour.
Should go and make dinner I suppose. Sigh.

    Evening all.
Talk about coming along like busses?
One delivery of woodchip in February and nothing until last week then 5 loads since then.
    yummity yum.
I used 20 dumpy sacks on the new borders by the drive so I need to start more off for next year.
@Fairygirl, I use BBC and Weather channel for weather and find them pretty accurate if you average out the two.

That'll keep you busy - and out of mischief,  Hosta  ;)
I like the fact that I can put other places into the site [Met Office] and I can average it out, as you say. The weather can change so rapidly, as we all know, so you can dip in and out to monitor it if you have outdoor jobs you want to do.  It's not accurate enough for hills of course, but that's an impossible task anyway. I use three for that to try and get the best areas to head for.
Yogurt-y spicy chicken for tea. Youngest has a bit of an issue with dairy, so we're experimenting. The coconut yogurt is working well. As soon as she has ordinary dairy, she breaks out in a rash. It's made a big difference not using the usual stuff.

  • My two nephews had trouble with cows milk when young Fairy but moved to goats milk and that was fine and interestingly once they changed their eczema disappear to.

I'm always slightly sceptical about these things HHog, but it seems to work, doesn't it? She also produces too much yeast, which creates a rash all over her body [thrush - sorry everyone!]  and the doc just prescribes medication which doesn't help, and is only ever for a week, so she's experimented with a few things, and this has made a huge difference. It makes no odds to me when cooking, soit's not a problem. She uses soya milk for her cereal, and if she's out and has a coffee, she can usually get that too.

Evening. Bit miserable out there, and the forecast makes grim reading. Storm Ali.

There are many types of ‘nut’ milks on the market. This was the topic at lunch time today in work, in fact. Apparently cashew nut milk is awesome. I love coconut milk on cereals and the big coffee shops do a gorgeous coconut milk flat white.

My garden and I live in South Wales.

We've tried the almond milk too AuntyR, but the coconut one seems to be the best for us so far.  :)
Hope you haven't been blown away today!

I’ve been reading your comments about a storm. Hope you’re all ok. Does the storm have a name yet?  The weather channel hasn’t mentioned anything for Scotland - Judy USA and Hpng Kong areas.
