My hubby was asked to do some 3D scanning on Time Team once. They got his name and company wrong in the credits, and cut out the most interesting archeological bit.  He got on well with the archeology types, but TR was described exactly as Fairygirl did. Did his bit to camera, then retired to his entourage and caravan. Too good to talk to the people actually doing the work.
When it got shown on TV , hubby had people emailing him from all over the World, including Australia. "I am sure we saw you on Time Team, but they got your name wrong"

Oh Fidget, that’s interesting.we always used to watch that show, basically because both our degrees are in Prehistory and Anthropology. Wouldn’t it be really good to be able to re-present the show the correct way. At least you know what was misrepresented.

They showed the bit that Hubby did with one of the team, scanning him  to look like  a tomb effigy. That was only done for a bit of a laugh to show what could be done. You could then take the data and have an exact replica milled out of stone or plaster.  They didn't show the bones they found, carefully placed in a wall, between an upper layer and a lower layer.  Presumably because they didn't know how, why, or by who.  As opposed to the chunk of pottery they tend to show that magically becomes a vase or water carrier or some such object.

    Hi all.
Quite a heavy frost, now cold and sunny.
The ladybirds all woke up again yesterday afternoon and started moving around, they are now in tight little huddles and motionless.
Moira had another episode of cholecystitis in the night, so need to see whether we can expedite appointment with surgeon.

I hope you have better luck with an appointment than my mum. A year on from Mum mistaking deer for sheep at Chatsworth, because of her cataracts, Mum has finally been referred to have them done. However, she has been told that there are no appointments at this time, so they will let her know, meanwhile she daren't book anything like a holiday, in case the appointment comes through for then and it would either get put back again, or she would lose the cost of the holiday as the insurance wouldn't cover it.

That sounds very uncomfortable for Moira, Punkdoc. Hope she can get help soon.

Fidget, sympathies to your Mum. It’s so much better when the cataracts have been removed.

I thought there was a time limit on cataracts.  Hope she gets done soon and sympathies for Moira too.

Possum, in her role as president of the student council, has a meeting with the director of her college this pm to discuss a student's rape case.  Not easy.  I've told her to make sure chappy is prosecuted and girl has support as well as all the necessary tests.  Hope nobody tries to bury it.

I've been watching the new archaeological exploration of the Arthur legend.  Fascinating stuff presented by a knowledgeable, qualified person and featuring similar people and years and years of research.  No idiot front man.

That made us laugh Obelixx. What’s the name of the show please. It might eventually find its way here.
