Monring all/afties Pat if you're about  :) Hope it's not too chilly there. Australia seems to be having some dreadful weather conditions for farming.
Been up a while. Very stiff and sore today - the arm anyway. Always worse when it's chilly. Single figures last night but it looks a decent day in prospect.
Glad you had a good sleep Hosta. I've never tried caffeine free tea. I'm quite fussy about my tea though...
I see the spammers are taking a new approach....

@Fairygirl, There's not much more I love than a good cup of tea, but for the sake of getting more than 4 hours average sleep per day, I thought it worth a go.
I drink "proper" tea until around 11am then go onto de-caf. For me, it seems to be working, although it's taken several weeks.

I'll give it a while longer to make sure it's not a flash in the pan.

Morning all. I’ve been checking in every now and then, but gave up a little while ago and therefore missed you three.😏

yes Fairy, the drought is really taking hold now and food producers are really making a noise. The PM visited some of the farms and at last something is being done. I’ve contributed to a few of the aid things that are being set up to help, but on the news last night, someone said the farmers had to fill out a 17 page questionnaire to apply for financial help. REALLY!   Sometimes I wonder about the brains behind some organisations.

It’s been cold and overcast most of the day. There might be a bit of rain about.

im getting very hungry. Hubby is cooking roast pork and veggies. The smell is all through the room. 😛😛😛

    Catch you all after dinner.

Max of 17C here today. FREEEEEZIN'
I think I'm heading for the polytunnel and shut the doors once I'm in there.
Can we please have some rain? We've had the odd shower which only dampen the ground enough to last 10 minutes before it evaporates. We've not had enough to top up my bird bath.

    Morning all!

    Have been busy already.
Flagged a whole load of spam a couple of hours ago, and then went into the garden to water my newly planted veggies. A bit late  this year because of the extreme weather. Curly cale, Savoy cabbages, leeks, celeriac and endive so far. Strawberry patch to clean and replant next week.

Now I'm going to clean myself up a bit before going to the market, and almost certainly ending up in my favorite shop here in town... the second-hand shop.

Had a good laugh at the news earlier. A guy in Germany called the police in a complete panic because he was being chased down the road by ...a baby squirrel!
Just have a look at the culprit after he was arrested.

Isn't he adorable? He's now at a wildlife shelter, where they'll look after him until he is old enough to look after himself.

Almost as funny as the guy here in Holland who called the police last Wednesday, because there was a big African elephant in his garden eating the pears from his pear tree.

    Have a good day everyone!

    Thanks for the recipe @Dovefromabove!

Looks like the plums are all ripening quickly now too. I'm sure only yesterday they were all bright green.

The birds don't seem to be as active in the garden this summer; despite the feeders and abundance of natural food. I think the mass rehoming of cute kitties (now free range live out door cats) on this street last year has done for them.

@kleipieper your news sounds more interesting than ours ... except that here in Norwich we have had a bit of 'animal news' https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-norfolk-45130907

Birds are very quiet here too Clari ... think they're all skulking in the bushes while they're moulting ... it's that time of year  :)
