Good trip to see Big Sis and Mum yesterday; managed to have a meeting with the manager, at last, too. He's taken a few things on board, including the suggestion that when they purchase new chairs, they could consider a couple of smaller ones for some of their little ladies (Mum is 4ft 10 and shrinking). We stuff cushions behind her but it's not really comfortable. Mum was still asleep when we arrived at 2.30pm - I think she's fading away, like her mum did before her - Granny slept more and more and eventually didn't wake up. But when Mum was finally up, her only recognisable word once again was "lovely".
Nice postman brought me a cheque this morning, compensation from Grand Central train company. It took less than a month, which I think isn't bad, and came with a suitably apologetic letter: "...we are sorry that your journey with us fell short of the experience you should expect to receive." (Yes, it did - the train was cancelled...) So much better than the "it's not our fault" attitude we get all the time from Northern; it took OH well over a year to get repayment of his taxi fare from Manchester, after their delayed Liverpool train caused him to miss the last train home.
I'm in agreement about the shoe. Anyone got a hacksaw??
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
I don't expect anyone to agree with me but I think it's interesting to see the Michael Craig-Martin sculpture at Chatsworth (there are more to see online if anyone's interested).
It is only a temporary exhibition after all, and he is one of the world's leading and most internationally influential artists working in Britain today ... I think it's good to see his work in the open air ... other countries are queuing up to show his work. ..........
Thanks for sharing @punkdoc .......... I'll get my coat ........

Both horrible to me, and the pink shoe, is it art, it looks like Emperors New Clothes to me. I’d rather see plants, trees and I can just about stand some topiary. My turn to get my coat😀
Gardening on the wild, windy west side of Dartmoor.
A Spanakopita made with Swiss chard from the garden is in the oven ... that's supper seen to ... we'll have a spiralised courgette salad with it ... have to do something with the courgettes and the freezer is almost full

I have an extreme loathing of whimsical hare statuary

@punkdoc ... I recognise the Flanagan Hare but I'm stumped by the other one ... did you note who the artist was?

Gary studied here in Norwich with the late David Holgate who I knew and worked on some exhibitions with. He was a lovely chap.
