We might get some on Thursday but I'll believe it when I see it.  Had that sort of promise all last year and we got 20cms in 15 months.   Fingers crossed then.

@AuntyRach about ten minutes of steady but light rain ... not a lot but enough to lay the dust for a bit.
    @chicky ... he is gorgeous 😎

its very warm warm and sticky again ... I’ve come to bed but not sure how much sleep is on the cards ...

Gorgeous chicky - and a great photo   :)
Hope you all get a bit of rain soon - we've been quite grateful for the amount we've had, and the ground is now damp enough to make a difference. The overnight temps are low so it doesn't evaporate quickly. It's usually autumnal here as soon as August arrives - you can feel the change in the air - but it's still quite 'summery'. All the rowans are looking splendid - covered in brilliant scarlet berries.
    Bed for me soon too
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...

Well that ruined a good view Punkdoc. As bad as the rusty girders they had a few years ago.
Where are you Chicky? I assume that is not Surrey?

Punkdoc, what a weird thing to do to such a lovely garden What were they thinking of.

Love the photo of the turtle Chicky. Glad you’re enjoying Cyprus.

Hosta, re the tomatoes, as Lilyp said, I have an electric drying machine with several trays and just dry anything I have a surplus of. Of course I ensure they are completely dry. It’s especially handy for herbs and other leafy things like Chives as well as veggies.

When i I tried to log on this morning there was no connection to the internet, so I’ve not been able to “talk” to you all until now. (2pm).
i think I’ve remembered everything. Apologies if I’ve missed anyone.
We’ve still got horrible cold winds here. Rattling doors etc.

    Morning all.
Awake early, but I gave up and went to bed at 9.15 last night.

Last night's forecast rain didn't arrive.
BBC says "71%" chance of rain at 07.00. It better hurry up: there's hardly a cloud in the sky.
