@Clarington and anyone else with a glut of fruit or a hankering for a delicious treat around Christmas should try this. My friend's wife does it every year and it is delish!

Morning everyone. Interesting comments about produce this morning. I like the Belgian people supporting the local farmer. I wonder what will happen here this winter when the prices go up ?
We are trying to harvest as much as we can. Kale is growing well, potatoes ready for harvest. No sign of onions and the radishes very weird shapes.
soft fruit been great so far, and apples looking promising. Freezers full already.
I wonder if there is anything stopping us putting some of our own produce in food bins?
    anyone know?

Moscow family arrive today for a family party this weekend. (The dogs get so excited when they see the high chair appear)They then return to London and much loved Nanny will be the surprise when they return  It will be tight for a while but then they move on 28th to new home! Hopefully their forever one!

Have a good day and I hope everyone gets what they want

Interesting sky this evening. We usually get these colours on the west, not the east. Topsy Turvy world.

@Lily Pilly. I think the difficulty with putting fresh food in food bins will be keeping it fresh in the time taken to hand it out.
Perhaps the thing to do is to contact the food banks or charities direct and see if they can use what you have to offer. Some places have Food Pantries where surplus fresh food can be accessed by those who can use it and who can’t afford supermarket prices ... and of course Soup Kitchens would probably be grateful for fresh veg etc. 🙂

Lovely sky Pat 😎 we sometimes get a sunrise in the east and a reflection of it in the West.

    Very wise advice Fairy.
Blackberries make excellent jelly (rather than jam) if you mix them with crab apples or cooking apples. And of course blackberry wine is one of the very best hedgerow wines
