If I see drivers using their mobiles whilst driving and they belong to a company I write to the employer and report them. If I see coaches parked with their engines running I write to their employer If I see drivers parking with their hazard lights flashing whilst they "just pop over the road " I speak to them and ask them how many laws they are breaking. My best reply was not F.O but "go die in a hole" and this was a mother in front of her 6 year old child. It helps to be 6 foot 4.

I try not to look at how many cyclists wear headphones in London. It seems about two thirds. No helmet, often no lights - and one sense knocked out. Terrific. They clearly haven't lost as many friends to traffic crashes as I have.
Very good Newboy, but have you ever driven a delivery van in St. Ives or Penzance in the holiday season? Stopping in the middle of the road, putting hazard lights on and nipping across the road is the only way to do it.
My son trys to deliver all his parcles every day, regardless of the fact he works from 5am to around 6.30pm every day, even when they had deep snow, he went to a nearby car park out of the towns and phoned all his customer asking if they would like to come and get their parcels as he wouldnt risk the van in the hills in town.

It's normal practice in the village to double park. It's a very wide street - wide enough for 5 cars, so one row each side parked normally, one row double parked and two lanes still clear. The rule is, if you're double parked, to check back to your car every 5 minutes or so in case someone wants to get out. I used to be on the Parish Council and we would always get locals coming in and complaining if the traffic warden had been sighted - normally about twice a year - because he ruined business (word goes round he's been sighted and everyone runs out of the shops to move their cars and goes to the town 20 minutes away instead).
A member of the public pontificating about breaking the law would get short shrift. Although as no one uses hazard lights, perhaps it's not such a great offence.

Lyn....Different circumstances in different towns. Bristol is one of the most polluted cities in the UK and there are plenty of places to park on the side roads its just that some people are lazy and dont care about others I take your point and I wish your son well in his job.

Hostafan.... You mean you don't park in the top car park and walk down?
I have to say that I tend to follow horses slowly, seemingly for miles, and then pass if possible giving a very wide berth to the dangerous brutes. I don't want a horses hoof print on my bonnet.

By law, we're allowed to block a road for a maximum of 20 minutes if we're delivering. TBH, locals never complain, they're used to it . Sometimes folks in very new, very large, very clean cars, often with pods on top, tut and harrumph.
I'm desperately trying to get my new, untreated shed waterproofed before we have any downpours. So stop rain dancing please, I'll let you know when you can start again. Another thing, why did I choose to buy a shed that's masquerading as a cute summerhouse with loads of twiddly bits
