Yes, good luck for @Busy-Lizzie for her open garden, and for @Jellyfire for his too ....may the weather gods smile on you both  B)

Now I must get outside and pick rhubarb for MIL and do lots of watering before we leave ... we've had a few drops of rain but not enough to do much good ... just enough to make the rhubarb leaves wet so I'll get a good wash down  ;)

    Morning all.

Thank you for the good wishes. Weather looks fine for tomorrow, 22°. Heatwave starting on Wednesday, 30°.

More HW, bed making and food preparation today. Didn't finish yesterday. Hands still ache.

I know Joyce ... we're just so sad ... we were talking about it this morning over our coffee ... both fires at Graduation time ... having both been fine art students in various prestigious art colleges, we're aware of the 'organised creative chaos' that surrounds degree shows ... is it possible that there's just not a strict enough H&S regime ... one would hope that's not the case but ...

Well, I completed a Bachelor of Arts (Prehistory and Anthropology)  before the horticulture. I think part of my desire to do the Horticulture was sparked by lectures in Australian Aboriginal culture, the beginning of Agriculture in South West Asia,  the wonders of  New World food plants which we all depend on now all over the world, etc, etc. While I was studying Horticulture, I worked on Saturdays in a garden shop. After I completed the Hort certificate, I started my own garden maintenance business. I loved it.  I was still working in the public service full time during these little activities until I started the garden maintenance business.  wouldn’t like to try doing all that now at my age. 😃

    Thank you Pat.

It's very worrying. I wonder how many more inflammable tall buildings there are. You would think they'd got fire prevention right by now. It may be expensive but it saves a heck of a lot if the building doesn't burn down. Then there's the tragic loss of life, thank goodness that wasn't the case in Glasgow.
