It's lovely out there but storm clouds are looming.  38C in the PT, 24C outside in the shade.   Our pond is full too Busy.  216cm of rain since the drought broke in mid December - more than twice an annual average - and only 23cm in the previous 15 months.  Garden very happy, especially the weeds.

I've done all my fuchsias now - no baskets - and potted on my acer Sano Kaku too.  OH is being noisy and smelly with his petrol strimmer so I may retreat to the shower and then sew.

While we were out there, chief builder chappy came to fit the handles on the doors in the shower room and then asked to be paid!   He made us wait 5 months with no replies to repeated requests for info and then turned up out of the blue to finish off insulation and paneling and that means I may have to wait another 5 months before the tiler has a free slot and then the plumber and leccy men can come and do their bit so builder can bloody well wait a bit.  Told him we were waiting for a new cheque book - which is true tho we still have one or two on the old book.

Does anyone know if Star of India fades in full sun or keeps its colour well?

According to the RHS C. Star of India fades with age ... it seems to be a feature of the plant.

Was in the middle of weeding the greengage tree bed when there was a strange noise then down came the rain followed by thunder. Just seen in the paper that June is already the wettest ever and it's only the 12th, more rain is forecast. May was already the wettest in Dordogne. Now I must change back into dry clothes.

Evening all. Still no rain here.
I'm going to have a shower then put the sprinkler on the bed at the front of the house. It's not rained since I planted the dahlias about 3 weeks ago and I think they could do with a drink.

Busy I hardly believe you have had such rain, has the world tilted? We have been so dry, however think it is all to change on Thursday so you should dry up!

Lilyp, we always get high winds here when the prunus trees along the village street are in flower. You have to be quick to enjoy them.🧐
