Lovely day here. More Dahlias and some Ricins planted. OH. returned home, late morning, feeling the worse for wear. It is fun not being the one with a hangover, although to be honest, it is a few years since I did.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
Pat - there's 2 Gairlochs/Garelochs here. The one doc loves in up in the north west Highlands, near Ullapool, and there's Gareloch [Gare Loch] which is out to the west down this end - near Helensburgh. The naval base is there too. Glad there was nothing too serious keeping you away D'you think doc will still talk to us..... Many congrats doc - mind and have a good nosy round LG - do you have any help re the migraines? Very debilitating. Not really what you need when you're trying to study. I had to come in - far too hot for me. Wonder if the thunder/lightning is coming. Do you get that often Liri? Take it easy. I will be getting the arm done - absolutely - but hopefully through winter. I really can't be off work at this time of year. To be honest, the consultant was always rather vague about the tendons, and the implications, but 'we are where we are' as they say. It's not stopping me doing stuff, it's just odd things that are tricky.
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Not all that often, thanks Fairy, but I used to get lots of ear infections as a child. Now they aren't so severe but often affect my balance, which is irritating.
The roofers have finished, and taken away the rubbish. (Hopefully we are now leak-free... but of course it hasn't rained for weeks so there's no proof...) Just the scaffolding to come down now, and then I can buy bottles of wine for the long-suffering neighbours whose doorsteps have been covered with debris for weeks.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
That's a nifty idea for your strawberries Stewyfizz.
Liri - you must be so relieved but also apprehensive for the next rain. Hope it is all waterproof now and soon tidied up.
Pat - not unusual to name places after home town or village. Just look at the US and New England, New York, Boston, Manchester and countless others. Easy indicator of social history too tho I do find the local names much more colourful - Weetangera for example.
Have come in for a drink cos I'm melting. Had the bright idea to tidy up and organise PT this weekend while I have OH to do heavy lifting but, TBH, digging out bindweed and then breaking up lumps and raking soil level for my work station is just exhausting - 42C in there with the doors open. 32C outside in the fresh air. Tomatoes are happy tho and so are the melons and cucs and even the dahlias have started growing like they mean it.
Once more unto the fray but outside so I can get some rays myself.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

My goodness Obxx, I don't blame you for choosing to be outside - those PT temps sound impossible to work in!
I've done a fair amount of revision and worked through a couple of past papers so have decided I'm going to do a bit in the garden as I'm losing concentration. For those asking - I do have migraine medication which is generally brilliantly effective, but occasionally recently it has not worked. Dove , I think my last 'bad' lot of migraines were linked to revision, but not directly - I took the pills too readily because I was revising and didn't have time to be sure I needed them, and ended up with a godawful medication overuse headache - duh! This time I don't think they're linked, it's just coincidence. It was terrifying, tbh, and I lost two days completely. Scared the family into the bargain too .
Liri, I am so glad the roofing is done. I do hope it's *really* done - how frustrating not to have any rain to be sure! A lot of people on here are wanting rain for various reasons at the moment. Not BL though - hope you're beating the weeds, BL.
Good to hear from you Wonky, and about your latest project
Congrats to punkdoc on the invitation, and on getting some more plants out. I have one more Ricinus question, if you don't mind - do slugs and snails like them? They look like they would...
Right, outside for a bit. See you all later.

Bleedin' cheek!!!!!! Hubby has just walked in the door carrying a bottle of beer. " You can forget drinking that. I've just come indoors to make you a cup of tea. You can have this tea and have that later."
Brilliant invention Stewy Fizz . Patent it quick 🤫
in for a cuppa. Toms planted out, greenhouse tidied, hellebore seeds harvested . Heading back out in a minute to plant up summer pots .....busy, busy, busy.
sorry to hear about head troubles Liri and LG - anything with heads always worries me 😦

Gardening in Central Norfolk on improved gritty moraine over chalk ... free-draining.
