Breathe Dove.   A distraction from Brexit has to be a good thing now and then and at least Trump isn't a permanent fixture.

You do know your texensis is non-clinging, tho it may try as it gets taller.  You'll need to guide it and maybe tie in the first few feet.   Lovely flower form tho and good colours.

Yes, plenty of tying in opportunities for the texensis as the side of the pergola is trellised.  My thinking is that it should also work well on opposite side to the alpina as they should be easier to disentangle when cutting back as only one will be wrapped around the other rather than both lol

Greetings all. Having a quick break from revision to eat some lunch and pootle on here. Need to do a lot today as I hardly got any done yesterday - ended up taking part in Processions - think it might have been on the TV at some point. It was really lovely. I took Bow and Trill, of course. We were in the green stripe.

I really must get some Clematis this year. There's a montana doing its thing and a large flowered one - looks like Nelly Moser - which sulked for a couple of years when the patio was built near it, but returned this year. But none that I have chosen. I'll certainly know who to ask for advice when choosing!

Right, back to it. Have a good afternoon, all.

LG, well done for going on the procession with the girls yesterday.  It also gave you a good break from revision.

The sun is continuing to shine but high winds and rain are forecast for later in the week.
That will put an end to the oriental poppies which have been glorious this year.

I too have just popped in.
The last bed has now been laid in the "Allotment" and mulched with compost. I had to work carefully as a lovely grass snake was snuggled up in the compost bin. I think I've managed to work round it without disturbance.
I think the sun bed is calling until it cools down enough to venture into the polytunnel to tend to tomatoes.

It has been hot here until about 20 minutes ago. It has gone cloudy and threatening to rain now. I was waiting for it to cool off before putting a few more plants in.

Oh Joyce I have just seen your post, why does it always change when my son and family come? I have had to come in too hot and sticky.  Strawberries weekend tho and fruit cage tidied up
Hosta I thought for a minute you meant you had a sunbed in the poly tunnel. Wouldn’t surprise me😉

@LilyP.  It may miss you as it's the west coast that's to be hit.

It gets over 50C in there ( that's as high as the thermometer goes ) Even for me, that's a bit too warm.
