Evening all. Overcast here now - is there a chance we might get some rain here at last? Can't believe I'm saying that! As long as it doesn't annihilate my paeony Joyce - he Duchess. She's just coming away now, and looking [and smelling] quite delightful. LG - you have to get more clematis...how can you possibly live without them? Don't watch Poldark - not my cup of tea at all. He was on Graham Norton a couple of weeks ago, so all you folk lusting after him will probably still be able to get it on catch up.... No walk yesterday. I could probably have had a chat with you on Saturday morning Hosta - I was awake at 4 having had about 3 hours sleep. By yesterday I was totally done, and fell asleep in the afternoon. Scunnered. I won't bore you with the reasons. Is it Friday yet?
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....
I live in west central Scotland - not where that photo is...
Evening all, another beautiful day here. Haven't spent it in the garden though. Ran some errands and did a bit of shopping this morning then visited a garden centre I hadn't been to before. Got some bargains, a couple of large penstemons, some varigated ivies for the fence and a hebe youngii.
Have to take the car in tomorrow it's on a recall for the passenger airbag. Has to be there for 8.30, yuk. Don't like being up and out at that time, reminds me too much of going to work. Then I'm off on Mabel and Merri duty tomorrow afternoon and Wednesday morning. Hopefully I'll get my new plants in either tomorrow morning or Wednesday afternoon. Don't want to leave them in the pots for too long in this warm weather.
There was a heavy frost this morning. The house seems to taking ages to get warm enough for my comfort. Pixel, (son’s cat) has had a run outside and a tree climb and is now curled up on the foot of our bed. 😀😀 No wonder she like visiting us. She’s an inside cat when she is home in Canberra.
More knitting today for me. I finished cardigan number one yesterday and today I plan to see how much I can do on Twinnie number two’s cardi. Then the fun of sewing them up and knitting several I-cords for toggles to go on. I asked for measurements of arm length of each of them and amazingly, one of them has 2 cm more arm length than the other twin.
While I remember, Dove, when I lived in Darwin, it wasn’t unusual to get earth tremors every now and then. I remember one time that all the ornaments on my dressing table got shaken off. It certainly stirs you up. One episode, there was much publicity about one of the three story office blocks which housed the NT Administration offices which had a very strong shake and the first person out was the Administrator. The local media gave him a ribbing about leaving a sinking ship etc. His reply was that he was leading the way, as was his duty. There was a large crack up the whole end of that building afterwards.
Morning Pat , if you're still around. I hope you've warmed up. Hosta Hugs for you Chicky. Still no rain here. I've given in and put the sprinkler on at 4.30am. The pressure is FAB.
