You too FG.  I couldn't begin to tackle one of those these days - back, hips, knees, toes....   I'm OK on the flat and with gentle rolls tho and can do miles of that stuff.

Haven't seen Hidden yet but have it recorded to watch with OH.

Weary now so off to bed.  Sweet dreams all.

Evening all. Just been posting on a few threads and remembered I haven’t said Hi on here yet!
Hope you have all had a decent weekend. I am loving the Summer weather and making the most of it by washing everything in site, having all meals outside and generally pottering around, often in bare feet - lovely.
    Night all.

Raisingirl, your train woes are similar to ours in the NW.  Our new rolling stock (ie second hand, but not quite so old as the current rattly bus-bodied diesel multiple units) have also been given to some other region nearer London where the travellers obviously need more comfort than we tough northerners do... and the introduction of the new timetable has been a complete nightmare, coupled with the depressingly frequent strikes over driver-only trains.  I believe in public transport as the most ecologically sustainable way to travel, and try to use it as much as possible, but it's certainly not made easy for us.  I'm sure Obelixx is right, and the train companies see passengers (now "customers") as a nuisance, interrupting the smooth running of their trains...

I'm still on tenterhooks, waiting to see if the next round of strikes (which are advertised at the beginning of each month) will interfere with my travel to London at the beginning of July, for the Hampton Court flower show and the Forkers' day out.

Your strawberry ice cream recipe sounds interesting, Fidget.  Thanks for the suggestion - I'll try it tomorrow.   :)

Lovely photo Fairy. I’m glad you managed a walk, your sky looks identical to ours at the moment. Minus 9c this morning.😖

We’ve had a phone call from our son to say he has arrived back in Australia after his Singapore “Uni class trip” and now only needs to wait in Melbourne for his flight to Canberra this afternoon. I think we might be taking Pixel back on Wednesday. We’ll miss her, and I’m sure she will miss her sunlit walkies here.

Nothing planned at home today, but Ukelele in town this afternoon. 😃

Morning all, I'd hoped , after a 12 hour shift yesterday, that I'd manage more than 2 hours sleep. Alas no.

Interesting reading, given the lack of rain in many parts.

Erm....... what competition? You mean we can choose who supplies our water?

ah well no. But if you want investment in your water company you have to compete with the other companies. There are so many things wrong with the way the water franchises were set up, I don't even know where to start. Can't read the article unfortunately - it's FT subscriber only

@Liriodendron I have heard very many excuses for late trains over the years. And 'Too many passengers' as a reason for late trains is one of the more common ones. We are definitely an inconvenience to their business

Right. I'm off to catch the train to London. It's currently running 10 minutes late ....

Have a lovely day everyone - see you later
