    Morning all.
Happy birthday Punkdoc, doesn't seem like a whole year since the last one!

I have anew bed!   Going to get the first of the climbing roses and clems in the ground.  They won't know what's hit them after so long in pots.   Nothing subtle - a Graham Thomas rose and a Jackmanii clem to start and then one of the hydrangea paniculatas will be rescued from the shade bed where it is too dry and some hemerocallis and stuff can go in too.   Proper planting!

Do you water all those pots by hand Busy or have you an irrigation system?

    Hello forkers,

Sorry to barge in like this.

Don’t post much these days, alas, but saw that Chicky is off to Utrecht and wanted to say that I hope she has a lovely time.

I’m Dutch and know the city of Utrecht very well. And the province of Utrecht is a lovely region for cycling.

The river Vecht  with its villas, built by rich merchants from Ansterdam, and the Heuvelrug with its woodlands.

We’ve had quite a few showers recently, but the weather is supposed to get better during the weekend.  But it’s supposed to get hot, up to 28 degrees!

And if the weather isn’t playing ball on Saturday, there’s always the weekly flower market in the centre of the city of Utrecht, at the lovely Janskerkhof.

There they sell cut flowers, house plants, orchids, bedding plants, herbacious plants, shrubs, trees and bulbs, or you could spend some time in some of the gardens in or around  the city of Utrecht.

Whatever you do, have a lovely time in our little country!
