A little bit overcast here today, rain forecast, but it's been glorious for the best part of a fortnight so no complaints from me, even if the sun tan will suffer (I thrive in full sun and, just about, tolerate shade). It could be a lazy day today methinks; Sunday politics, book or magazine then a wee stroll in the afternoon checking out folks gardens to see what grows well in the general area and get some ideas, then home for some home made lasagne and salad (shop bought, (but it wont be next year). Sounds like a plan.
Thanks Joyce. we still need rain here as well. All the pastures are brown and lots of farmers are selling off their stock because they can’t get hay. It’s almost impossible to buy now.
Afternoon all, beautiful here, I'm really enjoying all this lovely weather. Don't use up all the sun Dove, we're heading down to Cornwall on Saturday so save a bit for us.
I've been out taking down all the bubble wrap in the greenhouse. Will leave the cleaning for another day. Most of the plants are in the garden now so just hubby's chilies in there and they need as much sun as they can get.
Visited mum and plan to spend the rest of the day pottering in the garden and relaxing with a nice G&T later. Have some posh ice cream too so that should go down well.
Been resting quite a bit today. Washed the car, which wasn't very easy, and did a few things, but arm a bit sore. Did too much yesterday I think. Cloudy and breezy but the rain didn't really materialise so I had to water stuff. Been watching the B.B.King documentary which I recorded yesterday. Brilliant. Did you catch the Peter Green one recently doc? Genius is a very overused word, but if the cap fits. Glorious. Good to see that he's relatively happy nowadays and still playing. Did Mrs doc help you out today then?
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

Sorry been awol again, but I have been a bit busy! Fantastic Day yesterday here, went like clockwork - my team and I have worked solid on the plan for weeks and really haven't had much time for sleep - worth it though, was an amazing day - I think we blew the socks off the French guests, never seen anything like it. Will post my album later if I can work out how. Onto next plan now though - Operation Instant Garden. My friend who has been growing all my plants since January doesn't believe it is an instant garden - but it will be for us. Apparently the car is jam packed, hardly room for her husband, she seriously considered leaving him behind. She is on the 8:30 ferry in the morning, arrives here Tuesday afternoon. Watch this space.
Hope you are all well, looks like your weather is good, been a bit blowy here today, but still warm. Must go, have to dig over another bed before it gets dark, eed my soil to be all beautiful and soft for the new babies.

Shattered Obxx. Up early for me - I'm not a lark - to be ready to leave at 9am for a day of garden visiting. We took 2 fellow members who live nearby and headed off to Mouchamps for a garden full of roses. Chappy is a farmer who bought an old decrepit farm and renovated lots of the buildings, including the house, and then started gardening and subsequently discovered roses which he grows up walls, pergolas, pillars, trees and arches as well as shrub roses in borders.
Picnic lunch in the garden then on to two more suburban gardens at Les Herbiers. Not so keen on the second garden which is crammed with interesting trees and shrubs and structural stuff but short on perennials and flowers in general. It has bananas planted in the ground and then buried in 3' of mulch to get them thru winter. Not pretty. All sorts of climbers being twined thru and/or over other plants and structures. All we could see of the house was its windows and doors. The rest was swamped by greenery.
Last garden is a woman who builds her own walls and structures including the water feature (hand pump overflowing down a shallow rill to a pond with carp), does mosaic decorations, builds insect hotels and so on and sows, divides and takes cuttings. Some lovely plants apart from all the bonsai which I gather is her husband's baby..
Finally home again by 6:30 and then a round of watering before cooking dinner. Feeling very weary now so OH may have to wait till tomorrow for his flambée'd pineapple. OH is grumping cos he wants me to plant my roses in the new bed he's rotavated before the weeds grow again. He's forgotten all about needing to add a cartload of manure first and also lay the terrace slabs and thinks I'm being difficult but I'm not turfing all my precious roses out of their pots till the soil is improved and the slabs are laid.
I've read back but am so tired and a bit pink too that I can't comment on all your doings but I do hope you've all had a good day, or at least a better one than yesterday for those feeling crook.

Enjoyed watching the wedding yesterday - Windsor in the sunshine certainly looked beautiful. Wish them all the luck in the world.
Off to Bham for the day today - taking littlest Chicklet out for lunch. She’s in the middle of revision and exams, so think she deserves a treat 🤓😀

Beautiful weather here.
Hoping to persuade OH to be my lackey in the garden again today.
