Morning all. A chilly start to the day with the promise of our warmest day this week. LilyP, tender plants that I've left out for a week to harden off are all fine so I think you could risk planting your sweet peas.
Morning all. I had to bring my dainties in on Saturday as it went down to 2°. It was like a tropical ravine in my sunroom. Last night I'm hoping it didn't go below 4° or 5° because I left them all out except a couple that only arrived yesterday. It's bright and breezy here so I'll leave the mower down to lawnmower guy and then decide what to do. It might be strimming. Enjoy your Wednesday.
Good morning. It's lovely and sunny here and not humid so comfy for working outside. PolyT opened, babies watered and cloches off the outside toms for the last time as no more 5C at 5am forecasts.
I've been getting messy painting rust with a treatment that turns it into a rich patina. So much easier than Hammerite but delving in and out of the obelisks means I have patina'd hands too.
OH is playing with his Flymo round the pond edges so this pm I'm planning to plant the new bog plants and the cornuses to smarten it up. There was a green woodpecker in one of the pond ashes shouting at me the other day as it swooped up and down the bark looking for insects. I hope he leaves my new plants alone while they get established ut he can eat as many ants as he likes. The perishers bite!
Well done for saying No Busy. An OG is quite enough for one person to organise. LP - I have some sweet peas here in a pot and they've survived all winter outdoors and decided to grow again so yours should be OK in the ground now.
I forgot to sow any this year so may have a go in a shady bed where they won't get too hot but still have early morning and late afternoon sun. Is that mad?

I've finally managed to catch up with the 147 outstanding posts on this thread... only away for 4 days but it took all my free time yesterday to get sorted! We had a lovely time in the Lakes, not enough free time to admire the view though. The concert went well, and the weekend in a huge holiday house in Windermere was good fun. One of the singers brought her nearly-three year old daughter (plus her hubby), which added to the entertainment.
Well. Can I remember what you've all been doing? Not a hope... but I enjoyed reading about it...
Is there something about living in France which makes DD, BL and Obelixx such creative and hard-working people? I loved the idea of Obelixx painting an obelisk.
Hope you've dried out, LG. What sort of garden furniture is it, which now looks tatty against the sparkling patio? Presumably not the sort you could attack with a pressure washer!
Best wishes to Dove for the imminent sunny holiday.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Liri - my screen name is Obelixx because, on looking out at my garden I realised I had obelisks all over the place. Spelt it with an X as a nod to the Belgae and Ambiorix and co. Then discovered Asterix and the Gauls later, with Possum.
