Selling the French house will probably take several years, market is very slow, made even slower by Brexit as the English are nervous about buying in France now. The French don't have so much money, high taxes and much less difference between rich and poor and they tend to stay where they are. But we are quite near the capital town, except it's one of the smallest in France and not much industry nearby.
The English side of things should be much quicker as we have a buyer and have found a house, unless something goes wrong.
Lovely day, must get into the garden before the forecast storms arrive.
Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.
Hi all. Beautiful here, again, we are being spoilt. Hoping to get more stuff into the ground today, then do a bit of chicken trussing [ staking, not a task i am very good at ] Hope everyone has a lovely day.
How can you lie there and think of England When you don't even know who's in the team
Hi everyone - near and far, hope you are all well.
I can’t quite believe what I read there @Clarington ... “care” home!?!?
Rockets have been fired Aunty Rach.
She did say she had a lovely time, it makes you sad to think that this counted as lovely. Had I known she would have been proved with a wheelchair so she could actually enjoy the event not just a long bus ride - cup of tea - toilet break - long bus ride.
I have just had a look at weather forecast for here through until the the first two days of June....not a drop of rain! @LilyP, houses for commuters? Clari, did the care home not send a member of staff to help out if necessary?
Great news Busy. I hope it doesn't take too long to sell but a huge relief to know you can start the process. Fingers crossed.
Looks like you had a great weekend DD. Well done.
Clari - dreadful lack of care. maybe make sure you always have a spare wheelchair and pads just in case? Should you do it again that is.
LP - I hope PP doesn't go thru. We've just learned that there are plans to build 8 houses on a corner diagonally opposite across the crossroads a few hundred metres away. The Vendée is a rare case in France of a growing economy and shortage of skilled labour and most French people round here seem to prefer new builds with all the energy saving mod cons and small gardens to renovating older property. The exceptions seem to be retirees coming from colder parts who like the whole rural thing and its buildings.
Hope you come up with a good plan Pdoc.
Hi to everyone and hoe it's a good day.
Must go and plant out my sweetcorn now. A brief thunderstorm and a longer downpour drove me inside. More planting and painting this pm.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

It looks like Ashwood have done the impossible, and got hellebores in flower for Chelsea. I saw that lovely double yellow that I had before someone put a foot on it, broke it below the crown and I lost it. I do have several others though, but not quite as exquisite.
Haven't seen any Chelsea footage yet but will make sure I get a feast of it in the next day or so while OH is out golfing - 2 competitions 2 days running!
