  • Ah,thanks Philip,if you face down the garden, there's a lovely view of the mountains, with Rows of miners cottages at the bottom.Ours is a miners cottage, and we found a coal pick head in the garden,i'm going to clean off the rust and hang on the wall.Lots of bits of coal in the garden!!
It was so nice nice to get rid of the decking! Now it's an honest garden!!
Next door are building a wall between us,just need some patience, while he sorts out their terrace. I don't think it will affect us much, except I can't plant anything too close to the predicted wall,as I will get trampled during construction!!

  • Meant to say It will get trampled, not me I hope!!!

  • @Valley Gardener,..Lol,..i am glad you wont get trampled during construction of the wall,..i did raise my eyebrows when i read your post.

The wall could be a bonus when built,..lots of plants would benefit and you can admire blooms against the contrast colour of the wall.

  • Two mornings of frost on the car which only appeared after i had walked the dog,..no plants damaged though i would expect to see some.

Hellebore looking good but so far no blooms from the darker blooms.

Nothing changed with the Heucherella 'Sweet Tea' from its appearance in Summer and Autumn to today.

We have a lot of icy frost here too. I was out last night and you would have laughed at my baby steps trying to get anywhere. I normally go for a one hour walk in the park on a Wednesday, but I am giving it a miss 😟. It's too treacherous. Watch yourself when you walk Foxy. Fran and I got some lovely plants from the Secret Garden Club and I got some seeds delivered from Chiltern. Things are getting exciting now! Love your Hellibore pics.

@Purplerain,..those Baby Steps lol,..i hate having to do those,..so far the frost was only on cars,..nothing slippy on the ground so far though i will be careful when walking Foxy Molly.

Ah i can sense the excitement of Spring arriving,..so you and Fran are stocking up from 'Secret Garden Club',..and 'Chiltern',..i wish you both the best with your purchases.

Things are looking good here as the river has dropped its level so its nearly time to return to my own side of the river,..now one can see grass where there was three foot of water,......................spot the dog,........early morning.

@nultyphilip224  I have taken a very keen interest in Hellebores since seeing yours! It would be nice to have some winter colour. I agree that Winter Pansies are always cheerful looking plants and always seem to do well.

That is a great photo. I didn't realise you were so close to civilisation, and yes I did spot Foxy Molly.
