@Valley Gardener,..pleased you liked the last burst of Christmas Card,..Happy New Year to you also,..ah yes the Carols,..i live so close to the Church that if i open my back door i can hear the singing in the Church,..see how close below where my car is parked.

The door to the Church is just beyond those trees,..that snow was in April 2018,..
prior to this the last snow to remain on the ground was in 2010.

Thank you to 'D' and to the member who liked the 'knife and fork' for the Hedgehogs,..for making the reply through the Card system  :) .

  • IT was my comment about the knife and fork, but couldn't understand where it went....so sent another!!

  • @Valley Gardener,..ah so it was you lol,..if i got a £1 for every time someone replied by card over the past 9 years or so and took it that it was like email where the senders email address is visible,..so didn't add a sender name,..this year i was puzzled as to who was the Elizabeth who replied as i had sent cards to three Elizabeth's :)

Oh as i was looking back through other Forums covering the past 9 or 10 years where i had posted images of the 'Hedgehogs',..because i couldn't find them on the computer i am presently using,.. the amount of stuff i rescued would fill a page,..anyway some of the images are below.

Perhaps i posted the video of the Feral Tom Cat i named 'Wild Thing',..if not its below,..it took three months before he would eat from close to my hand.
    https://youtu.be/g4gwnzHV4B0

Some images of him,..he was almost 40cm/16 inches long,..not including his tail.

I had never come across a Tom Cat who took turns minding the kittens he sired and that's what he did,..the striped kitten in the image below grew up to look just like his Dad.

The son who is a fierce male and living with some friends out in the sticks.

Just love the photos and stories @nultyphilip224. Such a good feeling when you gain the trust of a feral cat  :)
  • I agree @ Fran IOM,
I used to help out at cats protection league, and it took so much time to gain a ferals trust.
Even now our Tonkinse boy only trusts us,no one else can get near him.
Philip your pics are great, you have obviously had a few cats in your life! Paws leave footprints in your heart they say.🐾🐾

@Fran IOM,..thank's Fran,..its thrilling to put your hand forward respectfully and not have it attacked then to see the trust of that cat.

@Valley Gardener,..amazing how they will trust the people they know and don't make the mistake of trusting everyone in the same way,..oh lots of paws footprints in my heart,..at one time there were 16 cats turning up for food twice daily,..the majority were strays or distant owners,..cats just passed the word around food at no 7 lol.
However those below were all mine.

  • Not too far away from the time i  suggested  that if you have a rose bush,..to look below that bush and see did any of the rose hips drop to the ground at the end of last season go through a stratification stage and produce a tiny growth,..a rose bush seedling,..below is the stages mine went through,..starting with the tiny seedling being sown still in its rose hip and grown to the size of a small 1 1/2 inch battery,..  4cm

  • Fabulous rose!  Have you ever stuck a cutting in a potato to root? That method popped up on my tablet yesterday, and seems too good to be true.....but anything's worth a try!
I'm fostering my neighbours peach climber, they had  lot of building work to do and the poor old rose got hoiked out by the digger,so we quickly dug a big hole (big rose) and I thought well that's it gone now,but yesterday I noticed all new growth! I don't really have room for it,but their garden is still full of rubble. The things we do to save a sentimental plant!!😊

Hi @nultyphilip224 How happy all those cats look together. How you managed to feed 16 cats twice a day I don't know! What did you feed them on? Would be too expensive to buy prepared cat food. I know if I were in your position I would do the same.
That rose is amazing. I shall have to wait some time as my roses aren't well established yet but will certainly be on the lookout in the future.  :)
