My neighbour has just given me Sempervivium,I've planted several round path edges(trying to soften the straight edge of a concrete path) I've had to start from scratch, apart from one or two hostas, and a hardy Fuchsia! The pics are lovely,I particularly liked the yellow rose.It was a toss up between a red or a yellow climber for my arch,I went for the red "Mushimara"as I've always had pink ones before now. I hope it proves to be a good choice!

@Cagzo,..great to get some free plants,..your neighbor must detect you are serious about gardening,..nothing as bad as to give someone good plants only to find they didn't bother to check where they should be suited in the garden,..then let them die.
I hope you get lots of free plants seeing you are starting off again from scratch,..visit friends and get cuttings,..or seeds,..do you have a greenhouse?,
Oh that yellow rose you liked is Rosa ( Rose 'Karresia'.),..a very highly scented rose,..its located half way up the garden and the scent wafts to my back door,..some time back a lady in Texas,..USA,..remarked that she liked yellow roses,..so i made the video below for her from my own garden roses.
Yes that is my black and white cat 'Whisper',..i have another named 'Denis',..who is aptly named lol.
Hi, Philip, just watched your 'YELLOW ROSE of IRELAND' video.. Loved it! Hope you're doing well, also FoxyMolly, Dennis, and Whisper.. Keep on 'keeping on', my Friend... Sam (Hank)
Hi Hank,..nice to see you here and thank you for liking those yellow roses video,..i hope all is well with you also,..the critters are still entertaining me and Foxy Molly keeping me fit with long walks.
Hi Phillip,I too enjoyed the yellow rose vid.All your plants are looking so good now,I'm having a job to keep up with the watering, the sun is on the garden all day, though mustnt complain! No this is my first time without a greenhouse! but managed to bring on a lot of stuff from seed in the porch and kitchen window sill.
I also have two rescue cats from Spain, they only venture out when the sun is warm! A Tonkinese called Cushion, and a Tricolour called Stig as she was found on a dump! It cost a lot to bring them back, but they were worth it!
The whole truth is an instrument that can only be played by an expert.
@Cagzo,..delighted that you also enjoyed the yellow roses,..i have reduced the length of my videos as even i was yawning before the end of the very long ones.
Oh yes don't complain about the sun,..i was moaning about perspiring on the doggy walks in temperatures close to 80F,..then it rained for 24 hours.
So no greenhouse,..still you can grow a lot of plants from seeds in your porch and kitchen window,..many people do this,..i have a small greenhouse great for overwintering the likes of Amaryllis rather than have them cluttering the house.
Top marks to you for bringing back the two cats from Spain,..despite the cost they are well worth it,..it would have never left your mind were you to have re homed them in Spain,..they become a great part of us and they entertain us as well,..i wonder will yours eventually adjust to colder weather and venture out when its not sunny.
I go to Spain quite often and mostly to the Nerja area,..the video below was with friends on a Doggy Forum,..one from Leicestershire England,..one from Indiana USA,..two from Utah USA,..me from Ireland,..some mix lol.
That looked like fun! What some amazing streets,so steep, but so picturesque. We lived near a place like that, but wouldn't have wanted to live in it.........no place to park, and too many steps to bring all the shopping and water up!😁 I didn't like gardening there,I hated Bouganvilla, vicious stuff, the cacti weren't very friendly either, but loved my Olive tree!
The whole truth is an instrument that can only be played by an expert.
I had the very same problem with parking and carrying anything heavy up those steep streets,..a friend had two level apartment for sale,..i did stay in it a few times but couldn't even consider buying it when it came up for sale,..for the very same reasons you wouldn't want to live at the place near where you were.
Oh i always admired Bouganvilla,..at a distance,..so there are problems with it?,..Olive Trees ah i could go for them.
I have added a plant to my garden,..which was growing in the wild be it a weed/water plant i never bothered to check as i like it,..Lesser calandine 'Ficaria verna',..it has a bloom the size of an average cup diameter,..i added it last summer and it has bloomed this week,..i will keep it from spreading and treat it to lots of moist soil.
Mine in bloom.
My Aquilegia survived the 24 hours of rain.
Alas not these Allium.
Lots of Slug Pellets and Chicken Wire to protect the Tigridia pavonia 'Mexican shell flower/Tiger Flower',..from slugs and snails as they love these young shoots,..however no sign of any snails or slugs,..i think i killed them all prior to spring,..touch wood.
