Sorry to hear that,..i keep mine moist though that's easy here with over 200 days of rain per year,..it likes lots of sun,..moist but well drained soil and the soil can be any pH,..i have it grown in socks filled with soil then stuck into gaps in the dry wall,..there is a noticeable difference when left to dry.
@Mary370,..thank you Mary,..i hope you are having the same good weather as we are in the Midlands .
Something new blooming each day though nothing has become dormant as yet,..just opening up are the,.. Cape Fuchsia 'Pygelius Funfare Orange',..approx 5Ft 10/178Cm.
When opened.
Aquilegia still in bloom all over the garden but becoming out shined by the new blooms.
Aquilegia 'Nora Barlow'.
One would think this was an arranged bouquet of roses below.
Step back a few foot.
Chilean Lantern Tree 'Crinodendron hookerianum',..still producing lanterns.
More Voodoo Lily blooms in the past few days,..7 in all,..with so many in bloom its is noticeable of the scent/smell depending on taste,..to me its like the odor of new leather
Lovely pics Philip. After a hard winter some years ago I lost all my phygelius apart from one. Voodoo lilies have amazing flowers but not at all keen on the smell.
@Joyce21,..thank you Joyce,..sorry to read that you lost all but one of your Phygelius,..they really are very impressive when in full bloom,..i also have the Phygelius 'Candy Drops Cream',..though it blooms a bit later.
Ah that's a better description of the Voodoo Lily,..i wrote scent/odor,..smell is a tad higher and more apt,..not as bad as the one which i don't have it smells like rotten meat.
My garden would be best described as a micro climate,.well walled in,..the highest temperature this season was last week 35C-94F,..last year it went over that.
