@Cagzo,..i treat her against Flea and Ticks every 28 days,..though never encounter Ticks when walking through the meadows or along the river bank,..by coincidence there are no Cattle or Sheep on any of the walks i take the dog,..on the opposite side of the river there are many so there would be Ticks there,..many of the uninhabited islands on our nearest lake have Sheep and there are lots of Ticks there,..i detest them lol.
Campanula growing up the mesh.
Fuchsia ( Fuchsia magellancia ),..this one is about 9 Ft tall.
I know what you mean, when I lived in Spain if the goat herd went past, you were guaranteed ticks on the dog,our poor dog was forever being showered! They never got on the cats however, dog and cats both Frontlined too!!
Only Ice Cream rose photo?
The whole truth is an instrument that can only be played by an expert.
What i have to keep an eye on is Swans,..if the dog gets too close they will attack and they can do a lot of damage with those wings,..we do have a lot of Swans here.
I take it you like that 'Ice Cream' rose ,..so here are some more taken in the past few days.
A splash of red roses taken when it rained,..yesterday.
Now the Delphiniums are starting to bloom,..this one is Delphinium 'Bluebird'.
A very new bloom in the garden,..this was a cutting i took last year,..from a Wild Rose,..however it does not resemble the parent plant at all,..not too sure i like it but i will wait for another bloom to appear before i decide should it stay or go.
It's useful to have so many ID of roses and other plants for members to search the forum and find. It's a good database and great pictures. Thanks for that.
@Fire,..thank you,..i wish i could put a name to all my roses,..many were cuttings taken from a bush that was not tagged,..some were grown from seed,..then there are the ones that have no resemblance to the parent plant when grown from a cutting.
In all honestly i would never do this again,..if i remember it took all of 16 weeks from the time i opened the rose hip/bud removed the seeds and placed them on a kitchen towel,..dampened,..then placed in a transparent plastic bag until shoots appeared,..keeping in a Fridge when one lives alone is fine but were there others in the house opening the Fridge its oops.
I selected a plant and when a bud appeared i covered it with gauze,..ensuring nothing pollinated it,..except me from another rose covered the same way,..that was from cross pollination.
It was easier just selecting a rose,.. keeping the seed and working from there.
The easiest way of course,..if one is lucky,..is to look on the ground after Autumn and Winter have passed,..just into Spring one might find a rose bud on the ground with a small shoot protruding,..its easy to start this into a rose bush,..were it left there it would probably die.
I have this garden for the past 14 years,..there was just grass here when i arrived but luckily i had time to move plants from my previous garden,..two of those plants at that time were Yucca aloifolia 'Spanish Bayonet',..they were less than 30 Cm tall,..now both are over six Ft,..one very healthy alas the other developed a hole in the bark which was deep and the inside was wet.
I have dried the inside and treated it with Neem oil to kill off anything that might be the cause of the rot,..then used expanding foam to both fill the hole and to give support for the area lost in case it should topple over,..also used a wire leading to a steel pole to give extra support whilst the foam hardens.
A new bloom today,..Clematis 'Dorothy Walton',..bloom is the size of my hand.
General view.
The Hydrangea main area,..soon to be in bloom,..Hydrangea Mophead both Blue and Pink,..the Blue from the use of Hydrangea Colourant,..plus Purple Lace Hydrangea and also Pink Lace.
One Digitalis 'Foxglove',..put in an appearance.
Another angle of the Delphinium 'Bluebird',..one can see how close the Church is,..though the saying ' The closest to God and further from Church',..applies,..or is that in reverse?.
