@Purplerain , i have just had an email from them headed "600 plant offers for you this week!" Must not look, must not look..... @nultyphilip224 , we are getting very close to 1000 posts - don't the powers that be like a new thread started when that total is reached?
Hello all at last. Had a bit of a houseful today hence the housework 😀. Despite that, I jumped at the chance of a visit to the GC with DIL who has gone gardening crazy! I only bought some compost 😇.
@nultyphilip224, I loved the video. I take it that is part of Riverdance. It is a show I would love to see one day. It's nice to know that you plonk your plants, and I promise never to call you a plonker 😀.
I didn't get anything done in the garden today but if the weather is good I plan on getting out there tomorrow. The forecast is good, so hopefully the strong winds you have had will blow out before they get here.
@AnniD, I expect you are getting worried about your hedgehog and I hope he/she puts in an appearance soon.
@Fran IOM how is it going on the allotment? I noticed a thread about charges, and the facilities seem to vary a lot. How does yours compare?
@AnniD,..not even a Fred Astair lol,..it used to be called Lurching because it appeared one person was holding the other in a Lurch,..when i first began dancing there was always someone appointed to ensure you were a brush head apart
Still no sign of your Hedgehog,..mine didn't turn up last night,..none of them,..the food was still there this morning.
It was VERY warm last Summer and come to think of it i didn't hear people this side of the pond complain about Slugs and Snails,..it tended to be heard other years,..you could be right that the heat kept them under cover.
@Fran IOM,..still bad weather here,..those strong gusts can still be heard outside,..plus there was heavy rain included,..no real damage apart from a heavy tile blown off the garden shed,..some trees blown down in the area as well so its really a risk being out and about,..''Whisper'' was wise enough to sleep over,..i placed a cushion on the floor and pointed to it,..she immediately bedded down and didn't wake until i was having breakfast.
Oh when you have an image of your new purchase,..''Stone Cat'',..post it for us.
You were very lucky after the last storm with your plants,..the Fuchsia would certainly have flattened them,..good idea with the Electric Flex,..i must remember that tip,..that was my main worry with my Cape Fuchsia it was leaning over half way down towards the Lupins and Delphiniums,..the latter would have not just bent like the Lupins but would have snapped off.
I agree with you that starting to use the house this time of year would not be in mind,..i did use the hose last week as we hadn't had rain for a spell and my container plants,..in particular Hydrangeas were very dry,..after carrying three watering cans to the end of the garden i got wise and connected the hose,..that hose is in the garden since 2004 laid out on the ground and winding around the paths,..its easier to have it laid out than try moving it around each time i need to use it,..i am surprised at how long its survived,..its always in view in images i capture.
Oh moving or splitting Primroses if they are in flower is fine once you get a large amount of soil attached to the plants but water them first so the soil clings together like a ball around the plant,..it can be dodgy though,..the best time is long before they are in bloom.
@Purplerain,..lucky you with good weather heading your way,..its miserable here,..i had a phone call from the Security people at the Marina this morning telling me my boat was just being held to the jetty by the front rope as the back rope had departed,..it wore away with the friction of the wind blowing it to and fro,..i can tell you that walking along a 120cm jetty in strong gusts of wind,.. with no rails to hold on to is nervy but i attached a new rope.
Oh i started off the ''Cottage Garden By Philip-2019'',..with a Spring video,..this present Thread will fade away into the background but the link to it is also in the New Thread,..thanks for the hint about the !000 posts being the end of a Thread Folks
I was working on the Laptop last night and looked over at ''Whisper'' who was having a late meal,..she fell asleep face down in the food lol.

@Valley Gardener hope you are on the mend.

Enjoy your evening all.
