Oh no, poor Dennis.......he looks elderly.  Always a worry when they go walkabout, hopefully he will return.
  • I keep glancing into the garden thinking i will see him appear,..so far nothing doing,..his pal 'Whisper',..is remaining very close to the house since Dennis  vanished,..she is very old as well.

Antirrhinium 'Snapdragon' plants in the greenhouse on July 7th last.

Started blooming about a week ago,..with the exception of the yellow,..it is flowering non stop since last Summer.

  • The flowers are lovely, but I am so sorry to hear about Dennis,a long time for an old boy to be missing.

  • @Valley Gardener ,..he never missed on his breakfast and evening meal,..thrived on being petted,..i used to have lots of cats all doctored after i knew they intended to stay,..many of them were strays,..none of them ever messed in the house mainly because they were taught by the older cats,..sadly i am down to one cat now.

Some of the clan that was.

  • 23C-74F in the garden today,..it still felt very warm walking the river bank,..despite that i managed to fill the greenhouse with cuttings,..Phlox/Delphiniums/Geraniums/Roses/Hibiscus,..i might fit in a few more when i have a good look through the garden tomorrow.

Seed Pods from Tigridia pavonia collected yesterday,..hopefully i will get many plants from these when the seeds are removed.

No Id roses from a very tall rose bush,..approx 240Cm-8ft.

    Purple Alyssum.

General view captured four days ago.

  • The cat film is lovely, what nice memories. We always had four cats, but now down to two,a multi coloured female called Stig( found on a dump in Spain) and a big Tonkinese boy, dumped in a box with his siblings in someone's garden in Spain.
In our hamlet there,we gradually got most of the population of ferals neutered, much to the Spanish neighbours amazement, they told us no cats live beyond seven years!!

Beautiful Rose,I needed something like that to paint from! I may use it next time, thank you Philip!

  • @Valley Gardener,..the making of those type of video when the cats were alive was easy and nice to view but i find it very difficult to look at any of my pets videos once they have gone,..i guess they were around more often than family or friends and so once gone there was a void.

Some more roses for you,..once again no ID's,..its difficult to say no to someone presenting me with rose cuttings just because they are not tagged :)

When walking the opposite side of the river to my usual walk i could see the meadows had lots of white showing against the lush green grass.

It looked like pools of water until i zoomed in.

Flowers for sure,..i presumed they were ' Meadow Sweet ' until i wandered over there.

Galium palustre elongatum ' Bedstraw 'Great Marsh ',..first time i have seen this in 25 years.

Wow, that's some sight............I wonder if it was the heat that made them flower?  Isn't nature wonderful............always surprises us
  • @Mary370 ,..i have never seen it appear like this before,..there are always small patches about the size of a wheelbarrow,..i took a closer picture from one of those spots on 22/8,..never expecting them to appear as now,..very likely as you mentioned due to the prolonged heat stretch and then several days of rain.

    Big Feet on Blue Heron.

    Looks like a small Thrush,..its a Dunnock,..about the size of a Sparrow.

First thing Foxy Molly has when reaching the fresh tall grass is a good roll around.

That swathe of bedstraw is beautiful among the lush grass.
    Love all your roses Philip.
