It's been nice today and I was working on the sunny side of the garden so very pleasant
Planted up around rose William Lobb, used marjoram, alliums I dug up while planting something else, a red clover and a pink single flowered hollyhock I removed from my guerilla garden as it is too nice for the general public.
Inspected the bulbs I haven't yet planted and decided I'd better get on with it. Had to rip out a patch of borage to get started, still flowering but have other stuff for the bees & co. Planted daffs called Binkie ( ) and 3 each of allium Twinkling Star and nectaroscordum Tripe. In the area I moved a kniphofia and moved in (from the front garden which I'm emptying), two asters, a persicaria, a schizostylis, and added a new Molinia. Have a rose to add when I buy it and some other bits and bobs to move in from elsewhere.
This all took ages but also dug out a campanula lactiflora elsewhere, nice plant but garden isn't huge enough to make it look good, weeded the area ready to bulb up, need to have a think about the planting first.
Brown bin day tomorrow, whoop! Made a new pile on the drive ready to fill again.
Well done Logan - I never had any luck with polyanthus seeds - let us know how well they develop and flower in the Spring.
We transplanted three cuttings that I managed to root over the past year. Golden Oldie and My Mum roses and another buddleia - purple flowering this time.
We also met the force behind our local Pollinator Project - we now have an official sign in our wild flower field - yipee - we are legal!
Hello , only sort of gardening today was to move dried onions from one of those small plastic g/h to over winter in garage Victoria , gorilla gardening , very impressed , I think it is a fantastic idea
Well done all - you have been busy. I weeded one of the front beds and then mulched it with Jack's Magic mpc. Not sure this was a good idea or not as the large trees above are just about to shed all the leaves over it, but I've been waiting some time both for the soil to be wet enough to do it and the day to be sunny and dry! (not sure why the type has suddenly gone green - I didn't touch anything - honest!)
Thank you guernsey donkey, i did some last September and they grew well and now flowering for the second time. I sowed the seed, covered them with vermiculite. Put it in a plastic bag and put them in the fridge for 2 weeks. Then put the tray outside and covered with clingfilm. They took a few weeks to come up.

It's not as altruistic as it sounds GWRS, to be honest. I made a border along the wrong side of my front railings to stop the council spraying weed killer and bashing the railings with their mower.
It has worked, although the plants sometimes get ragged by the mower, so for that reason and because folk think it is a dog walking zone, it is planted up with fancy weeds like toadflaxes and lambs ear, and easy to make things like persicaria and astrantia.
