  • I potted on my Petunias (Sparkler) Planted 2 Cosmos to each pot(behind you Dove!😀)   poked a teaspoon into my Runner beans as they are very slow germinating, hmmm!! Do stringless ones take longer? This is the first time I've done them?

was going to pot up an azalea that looked like it wasn't doing very well.  looked again today and plenty of new growth at tips, so left it and gave it a mulch of ericacous compost ( and same for a couple other azalea).   I've branched up a huge viburnham above it, so that should let it more light and rain...hoping that helps it this year.

also dug up a layered cutting from a forsythia, potted it up.

    weeded (mostly hoe) a bed.

washed the car (annual job more or less!)

heavens opened so i've retreated indoor.
  • Good gardening weather - misty but not cold or windy, or sunny for that matter! I planted another lavender (bought 6 in a small tray) in the big flower bed, potted up some echiums (miniature) into 4 inch pots. tweaked the pebbles around the pond - hedgehog disturbance and continued to prepare giant plant pot for clematis and lavender outside the front door.  OH deadheaded bulbs and lifted a few heavy pots for me.

No chance today, still soaking wet. Hopefully it's going to dry up a bit over the coming days as less rain is forecast and higher temperatures.

I haven't even sowed my cosmos seeds yet, looks like I can afford to wait a bit more!

Finally cut grass  front and back today (cant call them lawns). Soil was wetter than I would like some muddy footprints at front now. Actual grass was dry at last, just a light first trim of the season.
