Sort of! Even painting the new fences and having a tidy of the wilderness at the bottom of the garden. Was great to be outside for a whole afternoon. It was a bit chilly but the fresh air was worth it (arms aching a bit though).
More general tidying, pulled off dead leaves from irises and pulmonaria Blue Ensign. Lightly forked over soil with hand fork trying to avoid emerging bulbs ! Blackbird very interested in my work, especially when l unearthed some worms. Hellebores are also starting to emerge. Very mild, in fact it felt more like early March than late January.
We carried on with cleaning, spraying (water/washing up liquid) in our conservatory/greenhouse and started clearing the old wild flower raised bed outside in the field. Also transplanted some of these - they look like snowdrops only taller, Snowflake Leucojum
GD , never heard of snowflakes, look good Notice in the week that wild snow drops are coming out again on stream bank , since I have been cutting back the weeds they have been spreading Spent day at allotment , warn out , will watch Manchester Untied v Arsenal on TV to night
More hedge pruning and debris burning, followed by rose pruning in the afternoon. Accidentally pulled out/up a long shoot of the honeysuckle which had rooted itself in the debris under the hedge, so cut this down and potted it up. Hope it survives. Tired but happy!
