No actual gardening but checked my pots for Daffodil bulb progress and they are coming along nicely. Saw the first bunches of Daffs in supermarket today.
I did order some more seeds, Had a day at home waiting for DN and others for wife unfortunately they never give you a time just a day poor girls are just so busy.
Still all sorted for next six weeks.
Allotment tomorrow for sure

Spent a good few hours at the allotment, We can only have bonfires between October and April and between the hours of 14.00 and 21.00 but we do get a regular supply of skips.
Sowed a winter mix of green manure as its so mild 15% Crimson Clover 20% Broad Leaf Clover 30% Westerwolths Rye Grass and 35% White Tilney Mustard
Continued to clear out the poly tunnel of the last old pots moved things around a bit disinfected and created some space for new large pots and grow bags.
Added kitchen waste and shredded paper to compost covered it in three layers of corrugated cardboard and put the lid on so that bin is full now I will leave it to do it's thing, I hope.

A lovely sunny day at last so I got to Allotment, fire to get rid of some prunings etc and then got a good stretch of digging done. Not too sticky or hard just right.
I went to the school garden I help to maintain, mainly to pull out a large thicket of verbena bon. which had self seeded around a small corkscrew hazel - the purple variety. I wanted the children (infants) to see both the twisted branches and the purple catkins just appearing. Found I couldn't pull the verbena out by hand so have asked the groundsman to dig it out for me (I hadn't taken my spade). I also planted yet another pot of snowdrops in bloom but this may have to be the last one, as they never come up again and it's getting expensive. I did notice however that the standard pink autumn flowering cherry tree I planted is in bloom, lovely against a clear blue sky today.
Did some minor pruning and tidying out the front. I spotted some Primroses coming through and plenty of buds on the Hydrangeas. I shuffled some pots by the front door - I might ‘need’ to pep-up with something cheerful there until the Daffs appear.
Filled one plastic compost bin 330 lt with straw/sawdust and rabbit poo, a lady near the allotments keeps and breeds rabbits and they bring all the old bedding every so often makes great compost after about six months.
Also set up the staging in the poly tunnel ready for spring
Was nice in poly but cold outside.
