I did a little bit AnniD, took advantage of the rain (yesterday here) filling a butt and watered some plants that needed it.

Mowed the lawn and tried to create an edge. Bindweeded the hawthorn which is mixed with nettles, hands are still stinging.

Made a list of stuff that needs doing and made plans for some plants I want to move.

Lots of tiny bees in the garden today, maybe the first batch since the queens disappeared, it had gone a bit quiet with just the honeys and hovers.🐝

I sorted out my poor Clemmies that got battered by the rain, planted Chives, and rolled a huge rock down the garden path,to have it as a "Standing Stone" for a bit of height!  Also weeded, carefully so as not to remove any flower seeds which have really come on with the rain.

I  tidied my potting table area, planted a foxglove and a geum (inspired by the Chelsea Gardens) Would have liked to have bought more, but Hilliers were charging from £5.99 to £9.99 each. Then I swept the paving yet again as the power washing I did yesterday made a terrible mess and washed most of my mortar out. Think I will have to get a professional in but there's a lot of it. I ended up trickling in some grit in the cracks, but my knees greatly protested!

I watered some shrubs and a young tree that were drooping.  It's been a dry spring, and we haven't had a drop of rain in at least three or four weeks.  I added another ten minutes to each sprinkler cycle as the grass is dull and crispy.  I'm not going for lush.. but rather not-dead.

Mainly I just walked around and enjoyed all the little aspects.. new growth, fruit production, opening blooms, etc.

I also looked at Geums in the garden centre, and couldn't believe how expensive they were, years ago they were dirt cheap! These did look fabulous though! A purpley colour.

I've done so much gardening since my last post there wasn't time to put it here! Veg garden almost all planted out, most of the pots and troughs around the house are done, weeded, planted in beds. But there is still a load more weeding to do. Now I'm having a short break in Norfolk.

No gardening due to the weather.

Was up at midnight fighting off the storm, but it was to no avail. Leaves clogged the drain and the garage flooded ankle deep.

Just spent three hours emptying the garage. Should start raining again around 14:00.

We dashed out once it stopped raining and took our collapsing log pile down. Disappointed no sign of any wildlife whatsoever apart from woodlice! It's going to be collected next week as we don't use it anymore - and I have plans for the space.
Busylizzie, you sound more advanced than we are, but I'm working flat out to get the garden ready for 16th June.
