Bought a trellis and Honeysuckle, to replace the Jasmine that was mauled by the snow.
Just started assembling some canes for my Sweet Peas to climb up, against the shed. Just having a cuppa break thinking it is fab to be gardening in the evenings.

Blue, I have the bad habit of posting and then going back to edit and add. I have put more detail now in the post. x

Dug up a section of lawn for a new bed, planted out French beans (oops!) and pricked out Ammi.... there will be wine tonight... to soothe my aching back of course! 😀

Thanks Fire.. I figured cats or birds.  Blackbirds love a good pile of fresh mulch.. which is normally fine, unless you've planted seeds.  Their tossing and turning uproots everything.
Thankfully our backyard neighbor who fed all the neighborhood feral cats moved two years ago.  One time walking by I counted twenty cats/kittens in his yard.. and that was just the ones visible!

So pleased that the rain has just started - as forecasted - after a good day in the garden. The water butts are all empty and we won't have to do any watering this evening now. We emptied a few more large pots of their bulbs and winter bedding ready for some summer colour (mainly snap dragons & single flower dahlias) and carried on planting sunflowers and foxgloves in our new border.

I was too cold to go out there today! A bitter wind,I hope I can get out tomorrow, though I have done cuttings in the kitchen, does that count? 😁

Ditto Cagzo, had to put my old winter fleece on! Sowed 12 sweetcorn seeds (trying them for the first time) and 10 Nasturtiums "Black Velvet". Again, a first for me, bit peeved only 10 seeds in the packet but it was a freebie, so musn't complain. Planted some tiny radishes a friend gave me in my new Herb bed just to fill it a bit. Painted the Asparagus Bed (an old packing crate) and then spruced up the shed whilst I had the paint out. Retired to the warmth of the house and a cup of tea

Has been a bit nippy hasn’t it! I managed to prick out some ammi, echinacea and salvia, curled more blanket weed out the pond, picked some salad leaves for lunch, tied in a few climbers and generally pottered. I have now opened wine and it’s Friday.... hubby is going out so I get GW to myself 😀

Bright & breezy here so after cutting lawns front & back I spent whole afternoon jet washing the paths & patio- not exactly gardening but a job that needed doing after the wet winter.
