Don't know if it's of any help at all Fairy, but since  I damaged the tendons in my shoulder last year (tennis) I've followed my physio's suggestion and trained myself to sleep on my good side with my 'bad arm' resting on the length of my body, if you get what I mean .... I used to lay on my left side with my right hand on the pillow under my left cheek, but now my right hand is on my right  thigh ... does that explain it?   If I stay like that it doesn't get painful in the night.

I've tried both of those Dove - as you say, having it lying down the right side is quite pain free. I mainly sleep on my left side, so I put the right arm under my head in the way you describe, but I often turn and that's when the right arm then swings over and wakes me. I slept with a bolster down my right side to stop me turning but it didn't work well enough. I thought of strapping my right arm to my body to keep it in place, but haven't tried it yet!
It's a place where beautiful isn't enough of a word....

We had a good day with OH's friends, light lunch in a pub, lots of chat. After they left I stripped the spare beds, hadn't done the grandchildrens' from the previous weekend either. Washing machine was busy and the line is full of sheets overnight. Hope the rain keeps away. OH's step daughter, her OH and 2 children are coming for the weekend.

I don't start at the coalface until 12 , so I might get a bit more sleep.
I hope you do too LG.

I've given up. I did sleep OK up to about 5, when I woke suddenly fuming about my dealings with a local sports centre. Fuming is not conducive to sleep! I hope you can squeeze a bit more in before work
