We came into the living room this morning to be greeted by a loud "Chack" from the chimney breast. Yet another jackdaw - but this one flew out, and straight out of the window, as soon as the soot door was opened.
Hard luck, Joyce & Hosta... Our forecast for today isn't too bad - dull but mostly dry. Tomorrow will be a wash-out though, so I'll get some peas sown pronto... should be warm enough later on to get them germinating, hopefully.
Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.
Morning all. Sitting in the garden with a cuppa. It's cloudy but not cold. Have to visit mum and then run some errands. Hoping to get in the garden today as I'm on nanna duty from tomorrow.
Bright, sunny and warm here. OH has been out all morning strimming the weeds in the potager where we haven't yet made beds or put down membrane. Has to stop between 12 and 2 so people can have a quiet lunch so we'll eat early and then I'll disappear to patchwork group.
He's also put the green net over the polytunnel to keep it a bit cooler. 28C when I went to check my babies and I have sweetcorn coming thru but no squashes or achilleas or aquilegias or much else.
Not commenting on the AC programme cos we spotted the murderer too but for other reasons.
There are some funny place names round here including one called 'Le Point du Jour' - the point of the day. Have to wonder how it got that.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

Nice for you to be relaxed Pat
A dull, grey morning. Wind and heavy rain forecast for this area tomorrow. It seems never ending.

"History[edit]
The area was named after Holsworthy, Devon, England, where Governor Lachlan Macquarie married Elizabeth Campbell, on 3 November 1807. It was originally spelt as Holdsworthy until after World War II, when the 'd' was dropped.[2]"
