Good photo, Hostafan. I have one  of some standing stones in Cornwall. I thought I was out of the way of my husband who was taking the photos. I look like a cornish pisky sat on a stone. 😀

Evening all.  You've been wonderfully chatty in the last few days - I've read back umpteen pages and finally caught up!

Flumpy, I've been wondering if Marion is ok too.  Don't like to pester on her thread - I think she was having heart problems though...

    Fab photos, Hosta!

Obelixx, could you grow a sacrificial cabbage in a quiet corner outside your insect cage, as food for your tiger moth caterpillars?

I spent an irritatingly long time trying to outwit the next door neighbour's cat this afternoon.  We have a bit of a love-hate relationship... fundamentally I'm a fan of cats, but this particular one is too good at hunting.  She's very well camouflaged in a dead-leaf coloured coat, and likes to lie in wait near my bird feeders, between clumps of daffodils.  So I've been making uncomfortable mats of brambles, and pinning them down between the daffs with rose prunings... it worked last year, but I'll keep a wary eye on things to make sure I haven't missed a spot.

Since 2019 I've lived in east Clare, in the west of Ireland.

Good luck with your cat baffling Liri - happy for our neighbours kitties to come over here mousing, but not to target the birds  :open_mouth:

off to bed now after the last episode of the agatha christie ...  ****spoiler alert***** we pinpointed the murderer last week, on the basis of being the biggest star   :p

I hope Marion is OK. I was going to say she is an inspiration to us, but Lily P got there first, I said it anyway.

We are going to watch the Agatha Christie on Catch-up in Norfolk.

Leg felt a bit better after I'd done the ironing sitting down so I did some gardening, cutting and pruning stuff, 2 barrowloads. But leg wasn't up to weeding on my knees. Housesitter says he'll do some gardening while he's here. He'll be looking after the GH full of babies. I did his room and made the bed too.

Dordogne and Norfolk. Clay in Dordogne, sandy in Norfolk.

we have visiting cats that farm the rabbits for us, always able to tell the g children that we have floppy mopsey  and topsy perhaps just in a different rotation!
Busy glad your leg feeling better

  • Today was a bit of a non day. I took a chance when the gloom lifted a bit to put some washing out, then took the dog for a walk on the beach. Unbelievable, sun was trying hard to come through, quite mild but threatening black clouds on the horizon and a very angry sea. Arrived home to find wet roads and very wet washing so I left it out. At least dog is happy, stretched out, fast asleep on the sofa with me.

    Morning all.
11 hour shift yesterday and I'm still awake before 6 this morning. grr
After all the rain yesterday it's nice to see the sun this morning.
No chance of grass cutting though so maybe I'll pressure wash the terrace before Big Sis arrives tomorrow. Garden Helper is working in the shop today . I like his help moving stuff back and forward when the terrace gets done, but hey ho.
