Dove, the dead trees we cut from in our back paddock are all Eucalypts. Various species.😏

I refuse to buy any seed that doesn't say "strong scent" on the packet. One I grow regularly is called "High Scent". White with a pink edge. The Spencer ones are usually good for perfume but have smaller flowers.

I got a bit ahead of myself this year as I started my seeds off indoors in Nov. Because of the horrendous weather I have had to wait before planting them out so they are still in their pots, climbing up canes, in a sheltered corner hardening off. If I dot get them planted out soon they will be in flower.

It is really cold today, grey, overcast and raining.

Joyce, I’m keen to have my first taste of the cucamelons. I’m not sure how big they will grow, but assume they are nearly fully grown now.

Pat, they only grow to two-bite size.
You're getting a good stock of logs in ready for the winter.  Still need the heating on here in the evenings.

Pat. Harvest them when they're grape sized, before the skins toughen up too much.
Not keen on the taste personally, only grew them because my daughter thought they were cute😕.

@Pat E  I wondered if they were eucalypts ... do they smell lovely when they burn?

I failed with my cucamelons last year. They just went leggy and died - I think they needed moving on sooner. Will try again this year. Now I've seen your picture,  Pat, at least I know what I'm aiming for (had only seen the fruits, not the plants, before).

BL the sports centre have certainly taken money they should not have done. I have a horrible feeling that they will have some dodgy clause somewhere in the smallprint which will let them get away with it. We will fight our corner though - they have done so many things, only one of which is continuing to take a direct debit after we had cancelled. Still fuming.

Ugh. Our situation is slightly different in that it's a monthly rolling membership - no minimum period. But OH cancelled Trill's lessons in person last year - it's that payment that has continued to go out. He didn't realise because Bow's lessons have continued. I have a feeling they'll get round it by saying he had to cancel in writing, but no one told us that and he made a special trip to do it person when he couldn't get through on the phone - was told it was all sorted, but of course we have no record of that because it was face to face. On top of that, I phoned last month to get clarification of the notice period as I had a feeling it was 1.5 months (for Bow this time). I was told a cancellation before the middle of the month was effective at the end of that month. I checked several times during the phone call and was told categorically that it would run only to the end of the same month. Duly cancelled before the middle of the month, to be told we were being charged for - you guessed it - 1.5 months.  She now can't make it - we made other arrangements based on the information I was given - so we've wasted a month's payment. No apology for having been told the wrong info, just a reiteration of "it's policy". No ownership of staff mistakes. So I asked for clarification whether she can at least use the pool for that month even if she can't make it to lessons - no answer. Asked again - no answer. And a whole plethora of other stuff too, but I've gone on too long already!
