Can't sign in under Chromium (Version 62.0.3202.89).  Cleared all cookies, still doesn't work.  Looks like it's logging in, end up back at the 'welcome to the new forum' page, but still have 'sign in' and 'register' links - appear to not be signed in.

    Accessed via Firefox (60.0.a1).

Multiple edit links on above post under Firefox.

"(One hopes no one is getting paid for this crap.)"says Wayside.

I think that is a bit rash Wayside as the team have worked very hard to sort out any glitches on the new site and have dealt promptly with individuals' problems.

I agree Joyce ... this new format is a huge improvement on the last one and the few teething troubles are being looked at very quickly. The multiple Edit Links anomaly was reported on Day One and is being dealt with ... lots of info in Nora's updates  :)

Wayside ... try logging in initially from the GW home page rather than on the forum page.

It's worth noting the autosave doesn't save, for example, 10 drafts for every post. If you finish your post and publish it, you won't have any drafts in your drafts folder. If you don't publish your post, you will only have one draft in your drafts folder, rather than 10. It's just a safeguard to ensure those who take longer to write a message don't lose it owing to a laptop freeze or poor internet connection etc.
I love you but that was not exactly what I said, the frequency the forum is saving drafts to the folder might be set to high.  At the moment it seems to be saving over and over and over again,  you multiply that by a whole forum and it can seriously bog down a website.

I’m not saying take it away. :/

I tried that (on Chromium stable release Nov 2017 (version no. above), goes back to the Gardeners World website, where I appear to be logged in.  Then as soon as I click on the forum link, I seemed to be logged back out again.

The number of edits listed at the bottom of the post doesn't matter it just shows how many corrections you made whilst typing. Just ignore it.

@UpNorth > thanks for letting me know - I'll flag this to the team. Have you tried clearing your cache and cookies? On Chrome you can do this by clicking History from the top toolbar menu, and then Show full history. Then on the left you'll see an option to Clear browsing data, click that, and then check cookies and cached images and files, and then click Clear data. Then, reload the forum site http://forum.gardenersworld.com/ and try logging in. If you're still having troubles let me know :)
Please do not advise people to clear their browsing history/cache and cookies.  This could be very disruptive for people.

In chrome browsers you can clear cookies (for the site you are on) by clicking to the left of the 'http://' part in the address bar, and remove cookies via the link there.

If you want to try/demo the site temporarily in your browser without your previous settings, open  up in a new private/incognito browser window.

This is a good tip.  despite being a proficient user, software like Chrome updates constantly and it's hard to keep uptodate with everything and like most i just cleared all cache and cookies but that didn't solve it.

SOLUTION:   for me anyway.   The tip above led me to seeing what coookies seem to be 'allowed' and what are 'blocked'.  for some unknown reason GW website appeared blocked from saving cookies, which inevitably was going to cause trouble logging in.    once i moved GW from blocked to 'allowed' it worked fine, like my other machines/devices.
