@NoraGW, Am I the only person who has no problem whatsoever with the Forum layout and use?
I haven’t any problems whatsoever, except changing sig, but that’s not important.

That post won't edit. I wanted to add that there wasn't a problem with photos on the trial run of this forum.
Liz, are you trying to edit your post by clicking on the ‘edit’ at the bottom of the post? That doesn’t work for me but if you click on the cogwheel in the right corner next to the time, it may work from that, mine does.

Something has just happened to make a very good improvement for me anyway, when I scroll down and read a comment, I then back space to get back to the page, it used to take me to the top of the threads so would have to scroll down to the last thread I had read, but today, wow! Back spacing has takeen Me to the last post I read and not back to the top.

I have just typed a post about how to install Chrome and it says "your comment will appear after it has been approved", that hasn't happened before, what is going on?

It did that to me the other day BL ... and to Hosta ... it's part of the validation process that @NoraGW and the team are having to do for all of us ... they'll get it sorted  :)

Hi @Busy-Lizzie. The "comment approval" thing came up on pages 4&5 of this thread. It's something to do with the validation problem. Don't worry about it, Hosta and Dove got one, you're not on some kind of blacklist 😄.

Regarding changing browser, I had to download a new one to be able to post photos on the new forum. I still have access to both the "old Silk" that I'm used to and the "new Firefox" from my tablet home screen.
I don't have a laptop but I'm sure my daughters have downloaded more than one browser onto theirs.
I hope you're able to do the same whilst you test run the new one (my husband didn't like changing from IE either but conceded that it had to be done).

    Good luck 👍😊

I was just about to suggest the same as Kitty, @Busy-Lizzie. It's just a browser, not an operating system - why not just install Chrome, give it a try and see how it goes? You don't have to get rid of IE, you don't have to stop using IE - you can use your email / this site / everything else in both or either - at the same time, if you want - and just see what you prefer. My guess is that you will gradually find more and more things that work better in Chrome and find yourself using IE less and less, but maybe not.

    edited March 2018

The post that I'd posted just came up so I tried again to post it but the same thing happened.

It was asking how to install Chrome as my default browser. I have Chrome on my task bar already but not as default. I asked Google but couldn't work it out. I tried to install it but it wanted my email and it won't accept the email I use, only the old French email that I don't want to use. I hope that post comes up, it's a plea for help!

Thanks Lyn. It was strange because edit worked last week.

How do you make Chrome your default browser? I asked Google but I don't understand what it's talking about. I went to the Accessibility here and installed Chrome, but I already have Chrome on my Laptop, it's just not my default. It says on the bar at the top http://search.softonic.com/INF00040/tb_v1?SearchSource=48&cc= Is that what it should say? When I clicked on something to try Chrome it wanted my email address. It didn't recognise it so I tried my old French email that I only use for Facebook to stop Facebook clogging up my usual email address. It accepted that but I don't want to use my old address. Somewhere it said I would loose all the Passwords and information that my Laptop has gathered over the years but that I could re-install them. I don't want to loose them and I don't know how to re-install them and I've probably forgotten some by now and not written them down anywhere.

The whole thing seems too complicated for me.

I changed from IE ages ago too because so many things wouldn't work well with it.  I use Firefox and didn't experience any problems when I changed, just benefits.

The only problem I have had is that I can't change my profile, it says I don't have the correct permission (or something similar) but I'm sure it will get sorted.
