    Morning all.

Crazy day at work yesterday.  I didn't finish until 8.30 last night after and 8am start.

Snow, hail, sleet , rain and never above 4.5C .

I'm going to head down to store shortly and have a look at my route for this afternoon. Fingers crossed. I'd forgotten about it being half term week. ( first week of the "holiday let" delivery madness for the year )

    Morning all.

Most of yesterday's snow has disappeared

A long day Hosta when you could have been snug beside the wood stove.

Wonky, hope some interviews result from your applications.

    Hi all.

Finally got back from Edinburgh, terrible journey in blizzard conditions, but made it safely.

Great weekend, Moira loved the rugby, got her face painted and screamed and shouted throughout a very tense game.

Raby Hunt was truly fab, we are lucky to have eaten in many of our great restaurants, and it would be high up the list.

Moira took some food photos, which we have never done before, so eventually I may be able to put some on here.

A little idea of what was on offer:

    Raw Scallop, avocado and spice.

    Smoked Eel tempura

    Potato puffs with oyster

    Raw beef and caviar

Cheese burger [ yes really ] truffle and blue cheese

lamb ragout, possibly the richest dish I have ever eaten.

Anyway, hope you are all well, have not read back yet.

I see some people have been behaving badly, good job I was away, or I may have joined in.

I could cope with raw scallop but not raw meat nor caviar nor oyster and I can't get past the pongs of truffle and nearly all blue cheese tho we have found a blue sheep's cheese here - not Roquefort - that goes very well in Nigella's salad with walnuts and radicchio which has become a favourite lunch.

Glad you both had a good time Pdoc and yes - best leave that thread well alone.  If I can resist, so can you.

Still sunny.  I'm about to go and see if I can find some Philly for my cake.

    Hi Obelixx,

I expect you have not yet heard about the --- minor--- earthquake which hit the east of La Vendée last night. The epicentre was a few kilometres away from Vouvant, my birthplace, which you have visited.

  • Morning all!  Hi Pat, hope the fingertips harden up soon.

Glad you and Moira enjoyed your break, Punkdoc.  I'm not a great rugby fan but even I was glued to the telly at the end of that match...

Wonky, hope you find something creative to occupy yourself while waiting for that perfect job - it's out there somewhere!

    Hosta, go carefully...

I'm only going as far as the library this morning, for my U3A novel appreciation meeting (we read "Smiley's People" this time).  It's normally a 5 min walk but might take a bit longer this morning - it looked like this before it snowed again, an hour ago, from my front door.
