Just letting you all know I've been in touch with Fairy and she's ok ... her pc probs are more or less resolved ,,, I thought I'd better let her know that the forum will be closed for a week in case she tried to access it and thought she'd been blacklisted or something!
Pretty sure we'll be seeing her before long on the new forum

Just shows how much wind chill even here did some errands earlier went out & back a couple of times. Though there was less than 20 min between 2 of the trips the car had gone completely cold in between. Just been out to put bins out and the cold wind is really fierce, nostril freezing, if you'll forgive me being indelicate.
Probably my last post on the old forum so bye bye till we are all re-incarnated on the other side, stay safe & warm everyone.
Liri - I did contemplate painting it ready to sell but the house sold in sunny weather before I had the chance. Not my problem anymore. I hope your hubby is safe on his travels.
It is so cold here now we've closed the shutter on the east facing living room window which is getting a lot of the freezing wind and we've lit the fire. Last winter we lit the fire all of 3 times in 3 months. This year we've had one every night this last week.
Joyce - sounds like it's going t get grim so I hope you're tucked up safely.
Dove - greetings to FG and I hope your neck is better by the time we get the forum back.
Vendée - 20kms from Atlantic coast.

Yes, she said it's snowing hard now. She's been sliding down hills and causing havoc and mayhem ... and that was before this snow ... but she's ok
We've just been around to NDN again ... a carer had been but not his usual one ... he doesn't know if anyone will go this evening ... he'd had some toast but that was all ... OH made him some toast and cheese which is what he wanted although I offered him a hot meal ... we've checked that he's warm enough and has a full flask of tea. He says he's happy in bed listening to the radio ... he has our phone number and has promised he'll ring us if he needs anything. We've said we'll pop around again tomorrow morning. I've got some cottage pie in the freezer ... I'll heat that up for his lunch if there's no sign of carers getting him a hot meal ... he can't have nothing but toast and cheese for two days running ... man cannot live by bread alone ... and I'll tell him so if I have to

He's a nice old chap (if a mite eccentric) and can tell a tale or two ... drove across the Sahara in the 50s apparently ... think he's 96 now and not really mobile but has all his marbles. He's been on his own for a long while as his wife died young and both his daughters moved away although they both visit as much as they can. He liked it when we had builders here as he'd come over and chat to them

Yes and he's someone's dad, and neighbours were kind to my Aged Ps and one day I may need kind neighbours ... I was brought up on Tom and the Water Babies and Mrs Do As You Would Be Done By.
