Thanks Dove, don’t worry about it, if Pauline doesn’t want to ever post on the site again it’s up to her. I tried to send her a message but she doesnt want them.?

And I keep meaning to reply to Joyce. Mayfair is quite a way from me - though is one of the areas where I used to work, so not too far. I fear I'm not going to make it there before the exhibition finishes, what with college, revision, daughter's birthday and Lumiere London in between, but thanks so much for the heads up. It does look like an amazing place - those earthworks! Do you think you'll get to the next open day?

LG - I'd love to go, weather permitting on the open day.

I saw that garden, once, on a TV programme by two gardeners about beautiful British gardens.  That was years ago so it will have evolved since then but it has stuck in my brain as somewhere extraordinary so I do hope you get to go Joyce and take lots of pictures for us.

Good luck with your pests LG.

  • all this talk of music .....Dove , I was introduced to Sting after his first concert in the Kremlin , he had recently done some songs with him singing some Gaelic.....so the first thing I said to him was how well he managed the pronunciation and he said.' pogue mahone ' ....I was shocked and then bust out laughing......interesting guy image

We were just out for our walk and my BH usually jogs ahead of me with our Yorkie so I get to listen to my favorite DID podcasts .....I usually have 50 or so on the......a couple I had not listened to before came on .....Clive James ....the man is a genius......and then Dave Brubeck  ahhhh, I was introduced to him by my older brother....who was in the RAF ..he brought home the Time Out album in 1960.....which included the legendary Take Five ....... I almost wore our old HMV player out .....image

A former colleague (younger than me) grew up in London in a children's home close to where Sting lived when he was first famous... apparently he and the other boys would chase Sting and he would jog faster and faster thinking they were going to cause trouble ... all they wanted to do was jog around the park and streets with him image

    Afternoon all.

We're having beef stew too, LG - got some goose stock which will go well in it, I hope.  And some ginormous mushrooms, reduced in the SM.  image

Learning the names of pests and diseases (presumably the proper Latin names) must be a right PITA, LG.  And the controls seem to change each year - hard to keep up to date...  Good luck!

Hope the tests will help to get to the bottom of Wonky's hand problems, Dove.

Met Office has a yellow warning for wind at Manchester Airport, peaking, obviously, at 6am on Thursday, the time we're due to fly out.  image

  • Have seen that the BEEB is doing some UK's favorite dog stuff tonight .....we are a bit biased because we have a Yorkie ......as do most of our friends .....great little pet for a Russian apartment .....you would not believe how many people have German Shepards in Moscow ..... but our guy ...who is now 15 years old loves the snow ........so we would have to vote Yorkie image
